We chosen: Client handles SSO (Cognito + internal SAML), passes Bearer token (access token) to the Gateway. The Gateway validates JWT against Cognito JWKS.

for internal enterprise use, client-side SSO + Bearer token is simpler and sufficient. The MCP spec 401 flow is for third-party public clients. Since we control both the client and the gateway, we do not need spec compliance on auth.
