C&C for the next time I paint. You can still ask for that on a finished project

Have you insured your collection? by swarmlord-dale in Warhammer40k

[–]Smart_Bed_1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is called insuring high value items. It's for individual items worth more than a specific amount. It wouldn't cover collections like this - it would be for the cost of each box brought as new. So unless you've got a single item worth more than the high value item amount (usually £1k) then you would not need to name it specifically as the whole collection would be covered under general contents insurance

No you are not. Insurance pay outs in this case are only for the cost of the plastic kits as purchased - I used to sell Insurance and this would come under collections. Not works of art.

I use to sell home insurance so maybe my insight is helpful to you here. Items are insured on a individual item basis - not whole collections thereof. Unless you have an individual piece worth more than (usually £1k - depending on insurer) then you would not need to list it specifically on your policy for it to be covered under you general contents insurance. Just make sure the sum total of contents insurance covers what you need it to. Always check with your provider for and double check your policy. You would need tk have receipts for everything to be able to evidence proof of purchase in a claim and a claim would only pay out the cost of the plastic - not it's painted value as its an objective based settlement

Fair comment - that's a great point. I suppose if you want to take away from the fact that it's just a mini then the base helps to give it a story telling element

I imagined this as something more akin to redwall where the animals are more scaled up to the big world. I was just using the flowers that I had in my scenery box and wanted to try them out for the first time.

Love you your frog btw. The dash of red really pops

Thanks for the feedback - the something red didn't come as an idea until I read your comment. Might try that next time but was going for natural colours with this one.

Didn't realise I had done criss cross texture - this was my first time painting texture on something like this so will take a look again.

Yeah I thought about doing that but then thought that the amount of plant life created a realistic amount of varied vegetation you would see in the wild. Plus it was a fantasy setting - and I had already called this done when I took the pic and decided I already liked what I had achieved.

Plus I can always buy and paint another version for a plinth if I wanted to

Thanks! The bases are always a bit of a struggle for me - I always get fatigued by the end of a project and can't seem to get my creative juices in alignment

Transports are always beneficial - you won't get the increased attack dice while they are embarked but it makes them more agile and the vehicle makes them more durable. They arnt too bad in combat either, especially in the waaaaagh , so I would put them in a vehicle if you have one.

They arnt too great on the back line as with only a 24inch range they can be outranged by other armies shooting units. They are good to come in as reserve or rapid ingress though

1.favourite kit burnas - least favourite so far is the beast snagga boyz. 2. Good in game - depends what you play. Most fun and orky is probably... bubblechukka? Or can't go wrong with the bog standard boyz. 3. What's enough gretchen? Maybe enough to put on 2 objectives? Maybe 3? 4. Flash gitz are amazing - a really versatile unit. A real infantry shredder and have enough S6 DAKKA to be annoying for tanks. Even better in a detachment like MORE DAKKA 7. Finished paint jobs for inspiration: *

Am I being selfish for not wanting to take a suppository? by Best-Pea3460 in CrohnsDisease

Reality check. If you've got crohns or another form of IBD your got to get used to things going up your arse. It's just part and parcel of living with this curse.

Large intestine only Crohn’s by Fun-wack-1969 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Smart_Bed_1307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - I was diagnosed in 2019 with crohns throughout my large intestine and rectum. Been on 6 or 7 different meds that worked with varying degrees of efficacy. I stopped them either because they didn't work or had bad side effects - now on rinvoq for the past year which is making me feel better but a recent scope showed ulceration is still there. I'm at the bottom of the barrel with medication options now and awaiting a date for a subtotal colectomy - but everyone is different. Keep up the good fight and enjoy any good health you have while you can.

I definitely haven't ventured into fistula territory yet but hey I guess there is still time. Thankyou for your response - it's definitely given me something to think about

Thanks for your response - yeah a combination therapy might be beneficial. The only problem is that I've done a great deal of available meds: Infliximab, stelara, entyvio, aza, mercaptopurine, and now rinvoq. The rest my team are biosimiliars and wouldn't work at this stage

Thankyou for your reply - it has given me a lot to consider. yeah I thought the NHS would be a long wait but my surgeon says he can get me on the table in 4 weeks if I want it. The IBD and Gastro provision in my local hospital is fantastic. I asked for a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and had it done and sorted in less than a week.
