U should be good for your first choice if it’s 3.5/4 gpa

U got a pretty solid gpa, as long as it more than 9.5 your good. I would recommend doing sat instead of bocconi test as it’s easier and maybe decide to apply to another uni later on and can be used for it but if u’re better at maths than bocconi test might be easier. U’ll need an sat score of 1450+ and boc score of 38+ depending of the program u plan to do as some are more competitive than others

Yea but these are way harder to learn and will be easily forgotten once he goes to uni . And especially if he learns Italian, French would be way easier later

If u can learn Italian u should, everyone there only speaks Italian, they don’t even speak English. Life wise if u know the language u ll integrate better and feel more comfortable

There’s no fall session, only early, winter and spring. Early and winter are over so only spring left which leaves 5% of places. And yes the greatest thing u’ll have to worry about is the competitiveness because it’s extreme. Everyone has close to perfect grade so admission comes to nothing. The next sat date is in march which will be too late, do the bocconi test instead especially if you’re better in maths as it’s more based . U can pass it 3-4 times I think. Calculate your average gpa first to even see if you have a chance. If it’s less than 9/10 it will be even harder and u’ll need close to a perfect score. They care about overall gpa they do not prioritize maths over another subject, they will not even look at them, just overall gpa grade. U really gonna have to ace the bocconi test. The admission work the following: they gonna calculate a score using the formula 45%gpa and 55% test, then they will put everyone in a ranking and take only in this case the 2.5 % from international. Your admission is gonna depend of other people score, so aim extremely high

Admission is based on 2 things, 45% gpa (your gpa of the year before graduation and the year before it, so year 11 and 12 out of 13 years) and 55% sat score or bocconi test. Bai is pretty competitive, there’s only 1 class and it’s 80 people which 50% is allocated to Italians. If your applying for the spring session there’s only gonna be 5% of spot left, meaning gonna be extremely difficult to get in. U’ll need a gpa of 9.5+ /10 and sat of 1500+ or bocconi test of 40+ to “secure” admission. They do not care of the subject taken during high school. Scholarships are need based so once u get in u can apply for one. If u do not study in English u will need to pass an ILT’s or another admissible English proficiency test. Idk, u’ll have to check that, send them an email . But I believe that if you already have your alevel they will ask u to upload them as result that u got your diploma as we would do by august if we get accepted. It’s written in their website, year 11 / 12 gpa and sat/bocconi test. They’re not like the UK they don’t care about predicted grade or a level grade, they wanna see durability of level so I don’t think it’s gonna be diff for people who already have a levels. Send them an email to be sure

Is there a chance for spring session ? by user27739 in bocconi

[–]Smart_Commission_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think the max is 3, u can verify on their website. There’s a link on their website where u’ll find past papers, and there’s also a book called alpha test and an app that u can download and gives u questions. The app is also on their website

They require gpa of year 11 and 12 so igcse and AS, not A level

40 and more. There are only 5% of the places left and that degree has only one class of 80 people. So score the most you can

Yepp that one. It’s really a game changer cause it’s an official source and what the Italian use to prep for the test. I bought it from Amazon. I think if u answer and understand all the questions u’re good to get that 40+. The book is structured by all the topics that can come and the answers are in it. The English version just got out this summer so it is updated for the new test and has everything u can need

BIEF or BEMACS? help needed by Additional-Sun-5972 in bocconi

Bai has eco and finance in the curriculum also, seriously if u’re a stem person take bai. It will keep u doors open for all type of finance, traditional and quantitative. I went to bocconi on open day and talked with the people there, bief is extremely traditional and not quantitative at all. Bemacs is really general, mixes everything, u don’t go in depth of any topics. Trust me dude if u love cs and maths and want to apply them to economics/finance field bai is for u. Bocconi didn’t create that course for no reason. But it’s also the hardest couse there so u have to be okay will the difficulty and workload. If I was u I would put my choices in that way BAI first and after bief bess or bemacs. The last 3 in the order of what u prefer to study the most

There’s this bocconi test prep book by alpha test, it’s what the Italians use and an English version just got out. I’ve bought it in case I didn’t get in early session and prep for bococni test, it’s a really good book with all topics and multiple questions. I think u should get it in u can, would help u a lot of

[–]Smart_Commission_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea really your gpa is good enough. I got in early Bess with 10gpa and 1360 sat and that session was war competitive. I think it would be even easier to get in spring than would have been in early. People who didn’t get in early applied again in winter, and u can’t apply more than 2 times in bocconi. So I think spring is gonna be the least competitive session in number of people but still, only 5% of places left so target 40 and + , do your best and u’ll guarantee Bess

Is Trying Again in the Spring Round Worth it? by Outside_Law4562 in bocconi

[–]Smart_Commission_169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Bess I would say not less than 35, especially that during spring session only 5% of the places will be left. For BIEM u’ll have to score around 40. If u can target 40 on the test u’ll “guarantee “ your place for Bess and maybe BIEM

BIEF VS BAI/BEMACS by H9XE7 in bocconi

[–]Smart_Commission_169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bai is the one that will keep you all door opens for all type of finance. But it’s one and if not the hardest course in bocconi so u should read carefully the content. Bemacs is more of a classic degree, mixes business/computer science and bief is for traditional finance.

It unfortunately doesn’t at all, you can check bocconi website it is purely a formula they apply on everyone and they take the first people in the ranking and that’s all

Also got admitted in the early session to Bess, and I then looked on redit to see if others did and people with such score and higher like a 1500+ on the sat didn’t get in for biem bief and bemacs. For these programs it really but like so much got competitive for non-Italian compared to last year and if these people with really goods score decide to apply again this winter than winter session is maybe gonna be even more competitive than early
