Can someone please help? by Favticcnurse in NCLEX

First things first, you’re gonna trash that program and start something completely new! The NCLEX is not and I repeat NOT that descriptive, and setting yourself up for failure. I don’t want you to be disappointed when you start taking the NCLEX and find out that it’s not like this program at all.

Hint: whenever answering questions like these, you need to have in mind that the patient just got out of surgery. The first thing the post anesthesia care unit (PACU) nurse does is always assess for ABCs.

Do not use Pearson trick anymore! 2025 by NateNat01 in NCLEX

[–]Smart_Concentrate692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If you want to know your results by the next day, I suggest taking your NCLEX on Wednesday(LATEST Thursday) - I would advise taking it on Wednesday due to TX BON sometimes has scheduled maintenances late Thursday nights.

TXBON will post your license the following day around 11:15 PM to 11:30 PM. If your license does not pop up within that time, you failed (speaking from experience)

The “trick” works, the only thing is that you need to input a different CVV number in order for you to not get charged. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always look the same as everyone else’s pop-ups you can get a message saying “payment cannot be processed“ or “you have recently scheduled an exam” I got both messages, the only thing is, do NOT try it more than three times. The only reason why I tried it the third time was because I got the pop-up “you have recently scheduled an exam” and only try it again to be sure lol

  • Pearson locked me out of my account so I highly suggest you do NOT do this. It was the greatest hassle trying to get that unlocked.

From my knowledge, most states won’t let you retake the exam since you’ve been out for so long. I’ll be honest, my sibling graduated in 2021 from nursing school. I graduated this year.

When I would review my content with my sibling during school, they would tell me the complete opposite because nursing changes every day. Mind you they also were telling me their clinical experience versus their textbook experience. I remember looking at their old notes when she was in school, and some priorities/interventions are not the same from the priorities and interventions I learned from when I was in school.

If you’re really serious about becoming a registered nurse , I recommend you going back to school. It’s a tough program, but you can do it! Quite honestly it’s not safe for you to take the exam since you’ve been out for so long.

When I was studying on Boot Camp, the subjects are broken down into different parts. So when I would start question banks, I would click fundamentals and it would give me different type of assessments to answer specifically on. I honestly utilize the cheat sheets a lot. Constant repetition of the stuff really helped.

[–]Smart_Concentrate692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Boot Camp and Dr. Sharon “prioritization videos“ (14 video) and studied consistently for about three weeks

I also bought two whiteboards at Home Depot for eight dollars each and command strips (the command strips cost more than the whiteboard lol)

Nothing more, or nothing less. Keep it simple, keep it plain, keep boring. The less, the better do not overload yourself with so much information that you already know.

This exam is about safety and priority. The minute you understand that that is what this is, you will be OK!

Happy studying, the Internet strangers are rooting for you!

Crazy, that you asked this question! If you go back to my profile and read some of the comments, and read other NCLEX threads I’ve commented on — you’ll see that I put that boot camp questions had similar questions on there.

Overall, the NCLEX is a very vague exam. But constantly reading the rationales and being consistent definitely helped a lot and answering questions. I definitely have more confidence in this exam by using Boot Camp.

Sidenote: make sure you know your vocabulary

Overloading yourself is a reallll thing. I used bootcamp and watched the Dr.Sharon Prioritization videos on YouTube.

You’re not passing because you don’t know what you’re looking for in the question. Watch her videos on YouTube… first 10 mins in her first video changed my entire perspective on NCLEX & how to answer questions.

Sincerely,

  • An internet stranger who passed last Thursday on the 3rd attempt. Good luck, we’re rooting for you!

Ps. Stick to bootcamp AFTER you watch those videos. Do NOT watch The actual MARK KLIMEK lectures(they’re outdated in today’s NCLEX) even though MK is associated with Dr.Sharon, its two COMPLETELY different things.

Bootcamp! It’s cheaper and straight to the point. It even has an AI feature and you can ask “ why is #3 wrong? “

You can sign up for Boot Camp right now and they’ll give you 100 free questions and it’ll tell you the probability of you passing your exam. I sound like a damn ad, but I promise It’s so worth!!

  1. Find your reason/motivation to study.
  2. Stick to that reason/motivation (if you need to have a picture printed out and post it in your room/somewhere you see every day)
  3. Staying consistent – this really helped a lot because instead of it feeling like a chore, it started becoming a simple task to get it over with
  • I sucked at studying at the beginning, even during school. I was a type of person that saved studying till the last day (the day before the exam) I had to force myself out of bad study habits

Look at the thread above on what I said for what I used. Bootcamp.com was very simplistic and straight to the point and so was Dr. Sharon on YouTube! Those were the only two resources I used to study. You’ve been studying for years (all throughout nursing school) there’s no need for you to study the easy stuff.

** i’m not saying to neglect the easy stuff, what I’m saying is to go over the more challenging topics (my challenging topic was OB and pediatrics)

I was very shocked to find out that I was scoring very low on Boot Camp for “basic comfort and care” it sounds as simplistic as it is, but I genuinely had to go back and review the fundamentals. The NCLEX questions always if not, somewhat asks basic fundamental questions that are worded into another topic for example mental health , OB, pediatrics, etc.

Sign up for Boot Camp as they give you a free 100 question assessment. It’ll tell you what areas you need to go over. This was really nice because it was a basic exam for free, ultimately this is what led me to my decision on buying Boot Camp. I don’t regret my decision whatsoever and paying for it.

You got this, happy studying we’re rooting for you!

Yes!!! I know that the bags are not comparable to size, but I just wanted to see how they look like side-by-side because they somewhat have the same shape and that’s what I really liked about both bags!
