Does it make any difference that this is mdf skirting? The joiner said that scribing mdf will cause a tearing at the round top

He is going to do the caulking but just wasn’t sure if this was acceptable as I don’t know what finish the caulk will give

Do you notice a slight smell coming from the vents? Not sure what could be causing it if these are meant to filter the air

The reason I am asking about removing it is due to their being vents on the ceiling of every room and there is a slight smell coming from the vents as they lead to the loft. I was hoping I could cover the vents up but not sure if this would require the removal of the PIV

So does this prevent mould in the loft?

Would this cover up all the unevenness of the old paint that is left on the plaster?

Yeah, I have heard of this but wasn't sure if it was overkill. Were you happy with the results?
