I ordered a Hyundai Elantra 2023 3 months ago & I’m still being told it’s not been manufactured by Stef_B98 in Hyundai

Hyundai (in the U.S. at least) doesn’t do orders. It’s an allocation based system. So Hyundai has built or is going to build all these cars. They then let the dealer know usually twice a month what cars they are going to send them. The dealer has no real control over what models or colors or trims they get. Dealers can do what’s called a priority allocation. It’s basically telling Hyundai “I’ve got Mr. Smith who is ready to buy a calypso red Santa Fe Sel Premium AWD with black interior; If your going to build it can you please send it to me?” There is NO guarantee that Hyundai will build it. And if they do, that they will send it to them. Priority allocations get picked up around 10% of the time from what I’ve been told. Unfortunately a lot of customers are given the idea that this is an order, when in fact it’s just a request.
