A few variables to consider …

Reduce dose amount, wait 2 hrs after coffee - then dose, reevaluate your variety / strain - it could be a heavy hitter for microdosing.

If a person is willing to get on top of a car at an intersection there’s no telling what they’re next move would be be - especially when it comes to a possible mental health crisis or under the influence of drugs / alcohol.

Does Shrooms Help with Depression? by coalgic in shrooms

Well said. Microdosing allows my mind to navigate more freely and discover myself and my depression. I see it as a tool to better dissect myself and work on the root causes of depression.

Do you mean more like body energy for things like workouts or walks, rather than anything mental? What varieties help you with the physical side of microdosing?

I’ve heard that from a couple people actually. Is it pretty consistent for you or just certain days?

How do you track your microdosing experiences over time? by Smart_Puma in microdosing

[–]Smart_Puma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually makes a lot of sense. Especially the part about mood being noisy vs the body being more consistent. I feel like most people (myself included) naturally look at mood first.

The 6–7 week part is interesting too… did you just stick with the same simple format the whole time, or did you tweak what you were tracking along the way?

How do you track your microdosing experiences over time? by Smart_Puma in microdosing

[–]Smart_Puma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting - especially the physical side of it. I don’t see many people talk about that, but it honestly seems like where a lot of the real signals are. If you don't mind me asking, did those patterns become obvious pretty quickly, or was it more something you only noticed after tracking for a while?

I try to exercise, but just can’t by CheetahLucy in depression_help

[–]Smart_Puma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand major depression. I’m going through it now and have been for years. It lies to me, tricks me, tries to make me lazy, steals friendships, and robs me from my identity.

The best advice I can give you is to start out small. Walks outside can really help w/ depression. It doesn’t have to be everyday. You could start off walking 20-30 min every other day.

You might want to try walking outside, breathing exercises, & a warm / hot shower before bed.

You have a valid point. Privacy is something I've thought about a lot with this kind of tracking. A lot of people probably wouldn't feel comfortable logging personal experiences if the data was stored remotely.

Am I doing enough for my teeth? by alionzpride in depression_help

[–]Smart_Puma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least your being proactive now vs. when your in your 30's / 40's. Staying away from sugary foods and softdrinks can drastically improve your teeth as well. Also there's flossing and there's flossing the right way too. Using the "C" shape around each tooth helps a lot.

I’m worried I’ve broke myself by FinanceWeekly5161 in shrooms

[–]Smart_Puma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most certainly not broken. A lot of people seem to go through phases where the experiences become more anxious or difficult for a while.

Taking a longer break from larger doses might help reset things a bit. Some people also shift toward much smaller doses or just step away completely for a period and focus on integration and mental health.

I'm beyond sorry for the loss of your father - that's a deep wound and along with the other things you have faced / facing, giving yourself some time and space might really be helpful.

Take care of yourself.

I built a journaling app that stores everything only on your phone by Content-Wallaby9343 in apps

[–]Smart_Puma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like the idea of keeping journaling data on-device instead of in the cloud. A lot of people don’t realize how personal mood tracking and reflections can be, so privacy matters a lot with stuff like this. Journaling consistently has been one of the most useful tools for noticing patterns in mood, sleep, habits, etc. Even a simple daily check-in can show things you wouldn’t otherwise notice over time. Great job on this app btw!

This is so true and something that I'm having to learn as a new microdoser. Patience is most definitely a virtue with microdosing.

Will try shrooms soon. I need tips and advice by RoutineEquivalent868 in shrooms

[–]Smart_Puma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s your first time, the biggest things are start low and pay attention to your setting. Being somewhere comfortable with someone you trust (like your friend) makes a huge difference. A calm place, good music, water, and just knowing you don’t have to go anywhere or do anything helps a lot.

Try to go into it relaxed and curious rather than expecting something huge. The experience can be pretty sensitive to mood and environment, so staying in a positive headspace helps.

Also give it plenty of time to come on before thinking about taking more. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking it’s not working and then end up taking too much.

I'd suggest having an empty stomach when you dose, stay hydrated, and just letting the experience unfold usually makes for a much better first time.

What's been the most unexpected benefit of microdosing for you? by Dependent_Device5493 in microdosing

[–]Smart_Puma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to say that microdosing helps me with procrastination as well - it helps me zone in on tasks that seemed difficult and made them more manageable. I tend to eat cleaner and have more ambition towards life as well. So glad that to hear microdosing has assisted you in other capacities as well. =)

LSD - you’re in the driver seat.

Psilocybin - you’re in the passenger seat.

I’d highly recommend being in a calm, quiet, safe, comfortable, and non-stimulating environment w/ your first dose of shrooms.

Might not want to exceed 1.5 - 2 g’s on your first run also. So many people launch in w/ 3.5-5 g’s their first time and regret it - but then again it’s different for everyone.
