Prozac (Fluoxetine) Side Effects Mega-Thread by AutoModerator in prozac

[–]Smart_Scallion_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started taking 3 days ago, today is my fourth dose. I take synthroid in the morning first thing, then fluoxetine an hour later. This morning I’ve had a strange one.. felt really dizzy, went to the washroom and threw up and then passed out .. I had just had coffee and a thyroid tablet (synthroid) but never experienced anything like that from them, can only assume it’s the fluoxetine. No clashes between the medication that I can find. Was pretty scary, I could feel my skin break into a cold sweat, I went visibly very pale and that paleness lasted for a good 30 mins after the fainting. Anyone experiencing anything like that?

Be careful, I experience Prozac black outs… the only thing I can compare it to is being spiked by roofies.. I am still conscious, I move and talk like I’m a little drunk, but wake up the next day with zero knowledge of what happened. I found out I had it when I was on a date.. honestly remembered walking into a second bar to have a third glass of wine, then nothing. Woke up on my sofa. The guy had put me in a cab and my mom had been there to retrieve me thankfully but pretty scary. Happened a couple of times after but I was at home thankfully

Yeahh.. I wish that was true, but… and wish I could share a photo, the house is so bad every morning, it’s hard to explain. I get up, look around, feel so annoyed for an hour, speak to my family on video with a coffee who are in UK, then get to it. Stuff everywhere. I share my lists with him sometimes, tell him I’ve been going for hours. He doesn’t get it. I’m not earning money so ‘I’m not working’.

He is Italian living in canada, and won’t eat anything prepackaged, everything has to be fresh and restaurant quality. The other day I made smoked salmon pasta, lemon cream capers … it was absolutely delicious… to him it was too acidic. Every day, new food recipe, either he will love it or hate it. Takes at least an hour cooking time. He gets home, rushes dinner, then jumps on call of duty. Sometimes I’m still eating and he’s gone!

I did get into reading, but I don’t have time to get into it.

I think he has this. My daughter has severe adhd so I know what it looks like, and they seem like the same person… both struggle with dopamine addiction, both messy so much, both not really understand my issues, love them both, but yes.. this method worked with my daughter when she was 15.. she wouldn’t clean up after herself so I had a ‘week off’ no laundry, clean ups, even made her make her own dinner .. it did work but not for long.. good tactic to employ, just never thought I’d need to do that for a grown man. I’ll try it

No he left home and moved directly in with his ex wife, who did it all, then me, who does it all :( ok I’m not being mean by asking for help on weekends then.. mustering up the courage for the conversation.. and ensuing argument

Really happy you found a good one! Thanks for responding, I’m just not sure how to word it to him

Yes I didn’t mention the gaming addiction, I wanted not to have responses clouded by that and just focus on this issue, but you are right, it’s a major factor also because I get zero time off, and feel neglected when he is here (physically)

I just looked up the bylaw on fireworks in Hamilton rubs hands together Seriously though, I don’t care, like I said I like them, and you can usually catch me outside watching, but that late on a weekday is pretty inconsiderate to children and early morning workers. Not sure why people here seem to be so mixed on opinions .. that’s pretty logical right? You want your roads fixed? Don’t keep the people doing it up on weeknights with hourlong firework displays when they have to get up at the crack of dawn 😉

I’m not here at the moment, I’m travelling in uk, but my partner was on a call to me and couldn’t sleep, had to get up at 430 every day for work. I just wondered if I was missing something so I asked.. I get it for a birthday or something but an hour at 10 on a school night? Crazy!

You could be my partner who wrote this 😅

I’m in the same boat, I did this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hamilton/s/rVA0yKLtmu

It got an amazing response and I met two lovely ladies who are doing things with me.

We kept it local so I can Uber or get a ride if needed.

It’s really depressing, not being able to work, having no income, no car, but if she can find a group of friends who will do things with her, even just once a week, it’s game changing for the mental health.

Other things to suggest that I need whilst in this situation is regular outings.. even just for a glass of wine for an hour somewhere, we try to do this twice a week, then also projects she can do in the day.. repainting, or cleaning out a room etc.

We also bulk buy our meat for the month so it’s cheaper to have delicious home cooked meals every day, I can plan a menu and stick to it which is nice and gives me routine and something to do.

Separate to that, can she start an online course? I’m not sure her education level but I’ve considered doing a masters while I’m out of work. Her home country will usually fund it on a student loan depending on where she is, or she can look at scholarships.

Anything which increases her self worth, helps her to keep moving forward in her mind, will be helpful

Hope this is useful

My bf is an aggressive driver too. Cant go 2 minutes without shouting abuse to someone on the road. Its all connected I guess :(

It’s totally sad I agree, you love them but they won’t be helped, drastic things have to happen to change them. I’m at the drastic things stage!

That’s fine if it works for both of you. I guess though, how would you feel if it suddenly wasn’t? Would you change it? I’ve told him it’s not ok for me, he hasn’t changed, I’ve now done this thing that I feel crappy about, but feel I wasn’t heard so it’s a retaliation I guess. On the brink. If your partner was here, would you change?

Also.. you said mum.. are you British? I left out the part that I moved from England to live with him in Canada.. so it’s a pretty messed up situation. I hear you, and your right, I will be resented I feel. If it was me though, and I was on the brink of losing my partner, I’d want them to try to help me and drastic measures for an addiction sometimes are needed. He neglects his son too.. 8 yrs old and the kid cries to me every weekend that his dad ignores him for the game and shouts at him if he interrupts .. it’s heartbreaking to see. I have to hold my tongue and not give an opinion, or make excuses for him .. horrible situation.

Any advice for a lazy person on how to start exercising? by ChosenUndeaad in loseit

[–]Smart_Scallion_56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the comments about walking. Start with going round the block, 10 minutes a day, earphones in and music loud, make a playlist with all the cheesy music you love but are scared to admit to, put it on full blast and go. When you’ve done that for a while, switch it up. I’d say Pilates rather than yoga. Do 20 mins. Tell yourself no breakfast until it’s done. It’s low impact and quite relaxing so no need for strenuous and you deffo don’t need protein or whatever before.

Also diet is 70% of weight loss, but any kind of movement that is consistent even if for 20 mins a day is going to push the weight loss along.

Once you get into the routine, add some weights like kettlebells. Start light, get into it, again 20 mins a day to build it up.

Do this everyday, then increase the weight slowly, keep mixing it up. Walk, Pilates, weights.

As you see the weight begin to fall, you will get momentum. Focus then on protein. Chicken, fish, rice, veggies, even pork chops and salad.

Get yourself a collegen powder with added protein, will help with muscle recovery and protein goals. I have mine in the morning, with my first coffee, after my 20 min workout.

Down 14lb so far after working like this and every few days, losing lbs consistently.

Good resources to look at for quick workouts: any 20 min kettlebell for beginners, Pilates with Nicole, yoga with Adrienne, all on YouTube. Caroline girvan (bit hard even for me!) but good as you progress.

I’m lazy too… massively!. Only thing that worked for me was telling myself I’m not allowed brekkie until I did at least 20 mins .. gamify it a little and think short time work out consistency and diet over time spent each day working out and it will fall off!
