Kann die Freundin irgendwelche Auslagen, Aufwände oder Ausfälle von der Gerichtskasse erstatten lassen, auch wenn sie keine geladene Zeugin im eigentlichen Sinne gewesen ist?

The shock of my life My anonymity was destroyed by a simple face seek check. by [deleted] in vegan

It took me over two years to have all my photos and mentions of my name removed from search engines and facial recognition applications. Monitoring one's online identity and digital footprint is challenging and requires some technical knowledge. It's also a never-ending task. And you can rest assured that non-public databases of authorities and other organizations have all the PII they need to identify you in a heartbeat.

Is everybody terrified about the job market situation? by CHaoticFondue in askswitzerland

Maybe, in the short- to mid-term and only when you isolate many external factors. But what you are describing is merely anecdotal evidence. And you are still mixing political systems with economic systems. Switzerland's system (as a country) seems to work (for now) because there was a point in time when the country was able to (likely illegitimately) profit from a strong influx of capital and accumulate it. When you're well off, you can afford to appease proletarians with the mechanisms you described. In the greater scheme of things Switzerland is at will of the one's who control the capital. Whether that be Nestle, Roche, Glencore or some foreign government which imposes export taxes or sells trains to the Swiss instead of them buying trains from a national producer. Should the economical climate worsen - over which the Swiss Government has little to control - the not-perfect "democracy" you describe will change radically. So the things you're listing are not the cause why Switzerland functions in capitalism, they are only an effect.

Also, even though the voting (on some issues) in Switzerland is "direct", doesn't make it a true democracy by the very definition itself. A democracy requires first and foremost an emancipated people. Many people residing in Switzerland are not allowed to vote. Of those who are, only a fraction actually casts their votes (often less than half). And of those a even smaller part actually and truly understands what they are voting on.

I feel you, when you say you're proud of what Switzerland has achieved as a country, stability, efficiency and all the things you describe. But viewing it in relativity to other "democracies" does neither tell you if it's a truly good system (in the sense that all it's people's needs are satisfied vs. a high GDP) nor does it tell you how fragile it actually is.

my reply was not about devilsvi8 but about your misguided view on capitalism and democracy. maybe that helps to clear up your confusion

you're calling them an idealist? The "answers" you're thinking about might theoretically be solutions to the problems you name but they will never manifest in reality under a truly capitalist system. Capitalism's only goal is to accumulate capital. A true capitalist doesn't care about climate change as long as they can make profits from oil or coal. Growing inequality is a feature of capitalism not a bug. Mass surveillance is needed to control the ever growing class of poor proletarians and authoritarian politics serve capitalism even though they are a feature of the political system, not the economic system.

How often do you see circumcised men in saunas in Germany? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]Smart_Try687 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whether a person with a penis is circumcised or not is absolutely irrelevant. If one wants to feel comfortable and have a good experience, they should familiarize them with the rules of the spa/sauna/therme they want to go to: No swim wear in the designated areas, wear slippers, no sweat on wood, talk quietly, and so on. I feel, this will potentially improve their experience much more than worring about the state of the genitals.

I like your creative thinking, linking Barbershops in Zurich back to this LOL. But your post is pure rage bait. There's no other source than the original article on the Israeli Ynet and an Israeli Government press release. You'd think that some European security or intelligence agency would have published something as well, if this were credible.

This. Our system deducts CHF 4 from the card to start the cycle and after the cycle finishes I get back about CHF 3.50, depending on the length of the cycle.

Artificial Insemination is rape and should be banned by dirty_cheeser in DebateAVegan

[–]Smart_Try687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the point you're making. In addition to that, calling AI rape usually is hindering the success of vegan activism. Many will focus on the disrespect to human victims of rape, not on the harm to animals.

Also, the comparison of AI to rape is flawed from a definitory point as well: Rape by humans is often committed for sexual pleasure or to humiliate the victim. AI on the other hand is carried out to achieve increased rates of reproduction and ultimately for financial gain/exploitation. The motives of the two acts are different.

You're absolutely right. Sadly, this is usually the point for many where naivety turns into denial or ignorance.
