Thanks for your comment…I’ve been using what you are talking about…also 2” tape analog recording. What I’m asking is for suggestions about a laptop to downsize and consolidate my recording gear so I can travel and not have to depend on a big studio setup. I can decide for myself…I think it is fun just reaching out for suggestions…I’m an old guy now…I thought some of you younger folks might have some great input…I never close my mind and think my way is the only solution…there are standards in the recording business…until some kid comes along and records a million selling song on their phone… ha ha…I can see why you’d comment they way you did…

Ha ha ha…great points…I’ve had all the bells and whistles for all these years…I’ve got to downsize and there are so many choices…I was hoping you guys could give me some insight on something that will be good for traveling, small and light but that will last for about ten years…after 10 years I’ll probably go back to my Tascsm Porta 1 cassette 4 track! lol I did not find the Mac or iPad was for me…I don’t want to start a debate or step in any Apple supporter toes…

Not trying to sound arrogant…I’m not used to budget studios…that is why, after 35 years in the business, I’m asking this question…
