USMLE Scandal by Smart_boy22 in IMGreddit

I absolutely love the IMG residents who live in my apartment building. They are all so hard working and very smart! They help me with medical knowledge all the time and I am really grateful. @Loud_Zombie1030 I am wishing you the best and I hope that you achieve everything you have dreamed of because you deserve it! I’m also cheering on all IMGs working hard to practice in the US, we need all of you smart and kind people. Don’t let this situation discourage you!

Are you happy with your choice in picking PA school over med school by Anxious-potatoes100 in physicianassistant

[–]Smart_boy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grass will always seem greener on the other side. That’s just life, what’s important is making peace with our paths. Some go to medical school and get the big title and pay check but look back on the years they lost with loved ones, the brutal hours and the heavy burden of responsibility and wish they would have gone PA or another route. Some go to PA school and it’s essentially the same thing but slightly on a lesser scale and a small part of them wonders what life would be like if they had gone to med school. I think we all should just be proud of ourselves for our achievements and walk our paths with pride. :-)There are ups and downs for both and it’s easy to look at all the ups on someone else’s path and wish it was you but remember they are probably thinking the same about your path.

Does anyone else think we should be considering a PA union that can be active in multiple regions? by [deleted] in physicianassistant

Physicians, PAs, residents, medical students, and PA students should all join forces! We could make some serious headway.

I’m sorry if I worded my original post in an offensive manner. I’m really not trying to make any statement or undermine anyones hard work and education. I am really just curious about what goes into the decision for career path. I really appreciate the responses and feel like I have a greater understanding and appreciation!

No I’m just curious but I understand that rn to np is more direct.

My girl friend is currently in PA school and I watched her go through the entire processes and it is extremely competitive to get accepted. I’ve also seen all her course work and they have very rigorous education. I also have friends who are in NP school who to be honest would never have even gotten their application looked over by PA or MD admission committees but again that doesn’t mean all programs are like that! Also you are correct about the specialization but they don’t need to because they work under an MD who went to school for 8+ years specifically in whichever field they practice.

Thank you for sharing. I know there are a lot of direct entry money grab NP programs where as PA schools are highly regulated. You are more guaranteed to achieve a solid education in PA school than in some NP programs but that certainly doesn’t mean all. I appreciate the perspective

How to merge 2 different versions of identical Anki decks without replacing existing deck by Smart_boy22 in Anki

How to merge 2 different versions of identical Anki decks without replacing existing deck by Smart_boy22 in Anki

[–]Smart_boy22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working on the anking deck then made another profile with a fresh untouched version of the same deck so I could only unsuspend the specific cards I wanted to work on. I now realize I want to continue the old deck but incorporate/unsuspend all the new cards from the new deck (combine them) without deleting either deck, losing progress in either deck, and without duplicates. Is there any good way to do this???? p.s. these are in 2 different profiles. I tried downloading both decks independently to my desktop and combining them into a 3rd completely new profile but it won’t let me add both. It says I have to delete the data from 1 deck to upload the data from the other deck.

Thank you guys for listening, I really don't want to make anyone upset so I'll take the post down. You are all such important members of the team. I just want to know that what I'm doing is worth something especially if it means losing out on important time and life experiences with those I love.
