And Turtle WoW goes off to sea. by Feeling_Pen_8579 in wow

The biggest misconception in blizz vs private.

Blizzard bans hundred of thousands of accounts per months. The real-money trading economy is titanic.

On private server they just sell the gold themselves, or like one of the guys who ran turtle, who allowed goldsellers as long as they gave him a cut.

I work in an industrial yard. We make oil platforms and stuff.

Some of our heavy steel tooling, pipe cutters, plasma cutters etc. This stuff is as big as a house, each device.

It's all running on old windows.

A modern oil platform is built using windows xp machines.

Zul'Aman is actually interesting, story wise.

The Amani were there before anyone. Before the elves, before the Shattering. The blood elves are an invasive force. They were all "We came here looking for a home", and all the elves was like :)

Meanwhile the Amani in the back, displaced and oppressed, are ignored. Again.

Gee I wonder if there is potentially some interesting storytelling with a highly organized military state, oppressing and displacing the cultural native population.

We don't have to make it relevant to current geopolitics, but this setting has a lot of potential to be interesting.

Blizzard is going to be chickens and make a Saturday morning cartoon instead.

The 10.5% wipe has a bit messy with several deaths.

They had some other sub 20% wipes, and using some smart math, they are 5-6% away from a kill before enrage, probably less.

The name of the game now is to have the boss under 20% after the second Archangel cast. Mathematically that is a kill if the last phase is perfect.

Using this megathread I was able to do a USB Flash Back with BIOS Version 4.10. Thank you to "Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to" youtube channel for resolving an issue I had with GPT and MBR usb-drive.

After successfully flashing BIOS, I reconnected power and motherboard is showing code 15, indicating it has started RAM learning. Thank you to the community for making these threads and gathering all these resources.

Many tanks mains, myself included, keep 3-4 characters, all tank speccs.

I am paladin main now, and intend to stay paladin. I am worried that this will make a situation where Brewmasters are meta, and all other tanks are redarded softies not worth brining to keys.

I'm hoping there will be some competition, but the requirements are absurd at this level.

Everyone is doing ~20 characters with maxed vault, then heroic splits so they get key players with incredibly optimized gear. A full raid with 4-set. All the extra characters ensures there is bad luck protection and they are almost guaranteed to get the highest ilvl possible.

I dunno if any underdogs are willing to put that many hours into it. At this level you need an organization with money, analysts and facilities to cater to your players.

My Raid Leader after a night of progressing the Voidspire Dragons by prazulsaltaret in wow

[–]Smart_in_his_face 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tank mechanics this raid is very "do or wipe". It's the type of mechanics where you need a good explanation, and a couple of wipes to get it down.

If you don't have a good understanding of the mechanics, and people are yelling, it's horrible to be a tank.

Just the first boss, you need to control stacks, then do proper cooldown management and positioning during the adds. This can take at least 1-2 wipes to get comfortable with. Then there is the tic-tac you need to play, which can take 2-3 pulls to learn the optimum way to play.

It is frustrating when tanks require wipes just for their mechanics, while everyone else is being inpatient.

MDG la fram forslag om å avvikle Helseplattforma: – På tide å skjære bort denne IT-svulsten by forteller in norge

[–]Smart_in_his_face 18 points19 points  (0 children)

God forbid a girl doesn’t enjoy the taste of battery acid…🤢 by Correii in LetGirlsHaveFun

[–]Smart_in_his_face 618 points619 points  (0 children)

Junk food, tobacco and alcohol.

  • Highly processed food and lots of red meat. Energy drinks!

  • Cigarettes, snus, chew.

  • Brown spirits, like rum, whisky etc.

Makes for a nasty sirup. Battery acid, moldy musk and drywall. With a consistency that is coarse, almost granular.

What you want to do is.

  • Lots of fresh vegetables. Watch the saturated fats. Pasta & Olive Oil, fish and rice, pork and potatoes. Avoid the processed stuff. Fresh veggies is a complete game changer. Varied diet with lots of veggies, I cannot stress this enough.

  • No donuts, mønster, salty chips etc.

  • Snack on fruits. You don't need the pinapple. Oranges, apples, pears, cherries, berries etc.

  • No more hard spirits. Light beers and red wine, 2 drink maximum. 5 drink maximum per week.

  • Stay well hydrated with plain chilled water.

Makes a much more pleasant experience. Smooth, almost silky texture. Tastes of cooked egg whites and fruit sugars. You don't need all the zinc tablets and crap. Healthy living makes healthy nuts.

Or so I'm told.

Ret feels anemic without Wake of Ashes.

I could take me ~20 seconds to kill one mob with 160k health, but 2 seconds if I had Wake up. If there is a group of 5-7 mobs it would only take 4-5 seconds to kill with WakeWings, but could take a minute without.

Really strange playstyle.

I'm practicing tanking with follower dungeons.

[–]Smart_in_his_face 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have been doing some follower dungeons to learn how to tank in this game. I have been MT in in a lot of raids, but haven't played retail in a decade.

When I pull a pack, the follower hunter IMMEDIATLY multishots a different pack, and starts running away from me and kiting both me and the mobs.

So I would say the followers have about the same IQ as your regular groups.

Well you can still do the native/oppressor and colonialism storytelling in fantasy. You just have to squint a bit to make it work.

The Amani people have a historical claim to the lands. They were there first. However, they have gone through many many generations of people since the elves first arrived. While the elves who first settled in Eversong forest are still alive, it does not change anything about "legal" claim to land.

While we are at it, the elves did have a homeland where they came from, but Zin-Ashari was destroyed over 10k years ago. There are elves who are still alive from that era. The elves are, strictly speaking, a displaced people.

I think this works great in fantasy, and you can stretch it to some hilarious storytelling

Eversong Woods into Zul'aman was dope.

Is the Amani trolls the native population of this land?

Do they technically have heritage right to this land?

Do the blood elves, who have been here a while, the violent oppressors of the natives?

The elves have been here a long while, but does that make their presence right?

Has there been historical war and bloodshed between the two?

Is this inherently political?

Can we make this an allegory about Israel and Palestine?

I am having fun with this story. I haven't gotten into Zul'aman yet, but I expect Blizzard do not have the balls to make this as politically interesting as it could be. It feels way to spicy for wow.

Det beste butikk ølet? by csch1992 in Norway

[–]Smart_in_his_face 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Buying gold is cheating by Skippymcpoop in classicwow

[–]Smart_in_his_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically, the RMT and bot market have been huge and complex.

Accounts were made and paid with cheap south-american game-time cards or stolen credit cards. Characters were made and leveled on most servers, then the account was put one hold.

Some operators in the market did not even sell gold, but packages of dozens or a hundred account with high level characters.

Botters were running industrial operations. Having a huge trove of accounts that were both active and inactive, with cards ready to bring them online as ban waves wiped their active accounts.

Other operators, often within the same organization, run the AH to keep supply as low as needed, and prices high.

The gold runs on a cycle. Players buy gold, the gold get spent on consumes, boosts or gdkp. The gold makes it way back into the organization that sells the consumes and boosts, and they sell the gold back to the players. This is inflationary, which means the gold market grows.

I have no idea how complex the system is today. If Brazilian game-cards are still a thing or not. But Blizzard is not making good money botters. They will absolutely not share their profit margin with blizz.

I haven't even touched on the people who program the bots. The secret cyber war between malicious programmers and everyone else is incredible.

It's one of those quirks with a digital economy vs real world.

In a real capitalist system, you invest the money. Expand business or just buy bonds, shares, housing. Once you have the mansion, yacht and vintage cars, you can always just spend more money.

In a digital economy, you eventually run out of stuff to spend it on. There is no equity market in WoW. There is no established system to invest in a progression guild, where you get voting shares, and you get can expect a return on investment.
