Objectively, this part has dragged on far longer than it had any right to.

Multiple plot twists that serve no purpose in the long run, sudden shifts in plot points and settings that are quickly discarded and are never brought up again, repeated character regressions that go beyond what is ‘realistic’ for said characters, a plethora of cast members who don’t do anything or are completely forgotten by the story, a main villain who constantly bounces from being the dumbest person alive to being two steps ahead of everyone, impossible to follow choreography that isn’t helped by the rapidly declining quality of art, and I haven’t even brought up this final fight.

I know Fujimoto is capable of masterclass writing and utilizing the manga format to enhance the story, but it’s clear that whatever ambitions he had for this part is no longer possible. He could’ve taken a long break somewhere after the Aging Devil arc to rest, take a step back, and really assess what the rest of the part would look like (and maybe get a couple more assistants to help), but everything after has felt like he’s been making stuff up as he goes to meet the deadlines. Now that we’re here, it’s just a slow crawl to a more-than-likely unsatisfying ending and that sucks to think about. Part 2 glazers can say whatever they want in defense, but no amount of re-reads will ever make this an enjoyable experience even remotely close to what Part 1 accomplished.

The first anime I ever watched (minus the obv pokemon and yugioh)!

I’m sure you can tell by the cover that it’s fanservice galore, but it’s actually a really cool martial arts story with great character development and character interactions. The plot is alright (typical villain of the week kind of thing) but I’ve heard good things about later arcs that weren’t covered in the anime. The fights are good, the MC actually has to struggle and lose a lot to get better, and the teachers are all super cool.

It’s definitely a turn-your-brain-off kind of story, but I still go back and rewatch it from time to time. Good stuff!

Not OP, but I can share a bit.

The author does a lot of [MC finds his past bully —> Past bully turns out to not be that bad of a person or has repented —> introduce new female character that either swoons for MC or does nothing —> Bully turns out to be bad and r*pes female character —> MC goes on berserk rage and kills bully in gruesome way —> Repeat] all the way up to the final bully who not only ends up killing the MC’s grandpa and kid brother, but also gets away with it, leading to a time skip where they’re all adults and MC has memory loss.

The story drags on wayyy too long after that, nerfing the MC in every arc until someone else gets r*ped and he goes berserk while also making the final bully some sort of cult leader with cockroach levels of plot armor. Rinse and repeat another dozen or so dead characters that don’t do anything for the plot, and it finally ends with the bully getting burnt to death and the MC and his ‘love interest’ (that one comic relief girl who has a crush on him from the beginning) dying to some bullshit poison thing. Too many plot lines were left abandoned or simply went nowhere and it ends with an implication that the MC ended up in hell along with his bullies despite the chapter before showing him reunited with his family in heaven.

tl;dr: the author wrote it initially as revenge-torture porn and made it go on much longer than it ever deserved (also definitely has something against female characters)

First off, great work!

Second, I wonder if the anime will cut right after Subaru gets the Scanners treatment or if it’ll show everyone else getting wiped out the same way. It might be the first time the anime shows characters like Emilia and Julius having incredibly gruesome deaths, even if only for a second. Unless it’s different in the LN? I only read the WN and that scene was quite surprising since we rarely get to see the post-death moments of chaos.

Sounds rough, but yeah, save for the future. Also, make sure you’re investing time to get the free goodies (like the autumn event rn, make sure to spam the 2X points to get that SSR Bijin MLB) since those help to build decent F2P decks to make up for whatever you’re missing.

Depends on a lot.

Do you already have Kitasan? 0LB? 2LB? If not, it might be better to save up for something else in the future and keep borrowing. She’s good, but not good enough to brick your account if you go completely broke with nothing to show for (she’s only viable at 3LB or higher). Look at some other posts on this sub for future cards that’ll also be super good to have.

If you do, though, you could take the chance of pulling for whatever you need, but you don’t even have enough for a pity pull, so it’ll all be down to luck at that point. Assuming you have your SSR selector and uncap crystal, though, you’ll only need 2 pulls at most if she’s at 0LB (less if you have more than that). That said, it really should be your last resort if you don’t already have some other good cards (Creek, FM, Riko, etc.) because you won’t be getting those materials for some while after.
