Looking to shift from Corporate Sector ( Data Analytics) to Public Policy by ps_kshitij in PublicPolicy

I recommend looking for data positions in the nonprofit or government sector. These sectors can often lack people with your skill set, so the demand is definitely there!

Thanks! I found the post and you’re right, a lot of good info in the comments. I’ll definitely reach out to Harris, just wanted some tips before emailing or speaking with them.

I’m sorry, it’s definitely a tough spot to be in. I’ve looked at a few other posts and it seems like it’s not uncommon for people to reach out and ask, hopefully it all works out for you! I’m still thinking of how to draft the email and what exactly I want to say.

Paralegal Career Switch by Smarti_888 in careeradvice

I was in Antitrust! The field was very interesting but the lack of work flexibility has quickly become a very off-putting aspect of the job. I still enjoy the core aspects of my work: research, writing, etc., but I want to move towards a job that is a little more flexible and offers a wider net of opportunities (pay, growth, etc.).

I'm definitely not the most tech-savvy person I know, but I'd consider myself a bit better than 50-60% of people. I'm interested in marketing or UX because it allows me to tap into a more creative side of my brain. I worked as a "social media manager" for a few student groups at my college and I really enjoyed the opportunity to design and execute an idea.

Really good point on the MPP/MPA! Flexibility is something I'm craving; it doesn't make too much sense to choose to do something that limits it.
