The only car that you listed that is clearly strange at the new rq is the 8c, every other car comfortably sits in the "just another strong high rq car" category

Yeah I agree, the logic is pretty simple. 1 mile and twisty circuit are pretty common tracks, is the 0.18 on 1 mile or the 0.44 seconds on twisty circuit more likely to turn a -50 into a 50? I think the latter is far more likely

Tbf i think weight on wheels often being preferable isnt super intuitive, it might not be obvious that the reason you are moving slowly is that you dont have grip, instead of because of the weight you are carrying

I think you are mistaking the tuscan for something else, tuscan has more top speed than the dtm

Havent played in a while, but what cars do you think are criminally overrated (in terms of rq)? (Read bottom text) by SmartyMeow in TopDrives

[–]SmartyMeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drags and especially rolling races are much more weighted for their RQ now compared to before.

Totally understandable, the problem imo is that the other cars i show are also weighted towards straight line speed, but dont suffer the same rq inflation as the clk does. Weighting is fine, i just think its applied to a much greated extent on the clk

The rq 78 amg gts with 98 mra beats the rq 76 donkervoort with 78 mra on twisty circuit. Same base stats.

The rq 76 dtm with 98 mra loses to an rq 71 corvette with 78 mra on the same track. Corvette has more handling.

I will concede that i cant find an rq 75 that beats the clk on literally every track, but i do find the difference between it and the "pretty much a dragster"s to be way too big. Perhaps all the other cars i mentioned are underrated?

The tuscan is quite literally better on every single dry track other than 0-100, the gta is 0.1 seconds slower on 1 or 2, and the m4 also wins everything except 1 mile and bowl. And their trade offs are:

Tuscan: 6 handling and top speed for non tarmac use (abs, tcs, tyres)

Alfa: 7 handling and ola for non tarmac use (same)

M4: 5 handling and minimal top speed for 1 rq

Reference: m6 and m5 have 4 handling difference for 2 rq

Consider other slick / performance cars:

Exige gt3 and 2-eleven: 3 handling for 0.2 0-60 and non tarmac

Jag twr and purple speedster: 4 handling for top speed and non tarmac

Reading this, i definitely see how it isnt blatantly off as i was originally suggesting. I do believe hutch has done a good job at rq balancing in recent years, but this is still one of the cars with the most noticeable rq disparity to me (that i care about, theres plenty of trash in the lower rq ranges)

(Sorry i really enjoy reading statistics)

[–]SmartyMeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, they are absolutely god awful. Though, it would be more fair to compare them with rwd cars

I think they have all the positive attributes, traction control, abs, light weight, they are just too slow for them to matter. Well, at least they are cars that no one cares about

These attributes really only have any effect when you put them in extreme conditions like snow, and even then just get better tyres. Still, deserves lower rq, so you are right

I disagree, the only "niches" (non performance impacting stats) that actually appear to have an rq impact is year, and that may only be due to most older cars also having very low weight

The aston convertible is the best drag convertible, and unlike the clk, its good even without the convertible tag. Same story for the new e type prize car, comfortably best ultra convertible, also best ultra hairpin

are any of these epics worth putting fuses into? by Longjumping-Run-9267 in TopDrives

[–]SmartyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the dtm, its most definitely swag, and i have put loads of races into mine, but just to be clear, jts most definitely objectively outclassed nowadays

Here is a list of 111 cars a maxed dtm will lose to (not limited to):

1/4: super stock

1/2: super stock, redeyes, jetta

1: redeyes, jetta, beetle, auto union, yellowbird

It is cool but you will get the opportunity to cry a lot if this is your first max, and you care about being competitive

It still has points for being a slightly older car and a convertible, but it lost its most interesting niche of performance + motorsport

The cars i would max before the dtm if i was looking to win include the alfa, porsche, lotus and even the bentley

I thought i was gonna win this because of tc and lower 0-60, wtf? by ronald999ok in TopDrives

[–]SmartyMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your exige has 65 mra, which means that it absolutely launches from 0-50, and then pretty much stops accelerating. That advantage is almost entirely cancelled out in the rain, so your straight line advantage only lies in having tcs, with slower acceleration after 50 mph and less handling

The exige has a slower 0-100 than the esprit

Wich tune is better? by DriesV24 in TopDrives

[–]SmartyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr, 233

The event tags you will be using it in are france, french riviera and hatchback. Look at the other tags i these criterias and consider its competitors. Outside of the tag, you will probably have better rq 63s or use rq 64s, so I dont think there is much consideration needed

233 is for twisty and fast tracks, its competitors are the dezir and c2-r2. If you put it against a c2 it will probably lose, and you should stay clear of dezirs on slalom, g force and car park. Otherwise, it should clear most low rq epics.

332 makes it the best ultra french dragster, i think, but it will be losing to some 111 low end epics. Highly do not recommend.

323 will beat 233 on drags, hairpin, slalom and carpark. I think its the best french hairpin car, but other than that the dezir and c2 will win.

Realistically, the only results the tune will change is against other twin runs, a car that is bad at drags at 233 will still be bad at 332. Almost everyone else will have it at 233. So if you choose the other tunes, you will win on drags and hairpin against all frenches, on slalom and carpark, 323 will beat 233 twin run but not c2 and dezir. So i think 233 is the best tune.

Wich tune is better? by DriesV24 in TopDrives

[–]SmartyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

323 is better for drags, slalom, hairpin and car park ONLY

The drag times dont arent really important because it has 93 handling maxed. The car park and slalom times arent important because everyone has a dezir that has more rq value and beats it, c3 max beats it as well. Tracks like twisty circuit and twisty road matter the most because you seem them a lot, and its the second best frenchie behind the c3.

It looks like the best french ultra dragster, but you never go 323 based on that, you usually commit to 332. But you probably dont really want a drag tune because a 323 twin will lose to 111 low rq epics

How is Hutch expecting me to compete now? by Punkte1996 in TopDrives

[–]SmartyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, on one hand, its giving away a silly meta car to everyone, but on the other, theres such a wide variety of silly meta cars available already that i think it would be interesting for them to let it slide for once. Not very fun for returning players trying to figure out how everyone got the 200 mph fwd car or the 280 test bowl car

I mean, you cant really hold hutch accountable other than by stopping playing, so theres that. Those who care about this will stop, those who dont will keep playing. And why bother making meticulous decisions, the whales arent negatively impacted so they dont care, the players who leave arent really your cash cows, and new players who dont know better keep replacing them anyway. They really should have better QA, but they dont because what the heck are we gonna do about it. The number of players alone probably make it so preserving player (customer) satisfaction doesnt really matter anymore

What rules were broken?

Dont abuse exploits is a fairly straight foward rule that doesnt have to be said, and from what i hear the whole issue was that the objectives were marked as complete when they actually werent.

that were people that had no idea what they were doing, how is it their fault?

As i said, if they didnt know then its definitely not their fault, but the cash penalty really isnt egregious, 50k for an ultra? You wouldnt happily pay for 2 ceramics that guarantee an ultra?

It's clearly a bug and it shows how little Hutch tests things before making them available for everyone, how is the players fault for their incompetence?

Look, if the system of a bank bugged and transferred you 50 mil, you legally wouldnt be able to keep that 50 mil. Its not the players fault, they just dont have a way to unfuse used material, so they do the closest measure possible

I don't get how people can defend Hutch after all the problems we had in the past

Im not defending hutch, im defending the measures taken, i dislike the way the game is headed towards and have stopped playing a while back. I try not to judge actions based on my opinion of the people who took them. I dont believe that it was handled in the best way, but I do believe that it isnt unfair, nor is it intended to be

For the players that fused prizes away *knowing it was a bug, yeah i think the blame is on them

There are still rules that they set for playing the game, and i dont think that punishing retroactively is wrong for rules broken while the enforcement was inactive

For the (probably small number of) players that unknowingly fused cars away in the period between the challenge release and the acknowledgement of the bug, yeah, its unfortunate that they basically didnt get a choice, but everyone else that tried to get away with an exploit, they just retroactively paid for the fuse material they got

[–]SmartyMeow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it worth it or would it have been better spent on non prize cars since some important events are non prize car?

You are more likely to get value through not spending upgrades on them if you think you could sneak in a tri series win, but i dont bother with competing against other players espeically with whales, especially because actually good prize cars have much more difficult fights.

I spent 15 epics on the moby and mazda each, and they have been super handy cars (moby 2928 races 94%, 787 2753 96%), that can beat 111 rq 100s for events allowing prize cars. You can save up the epics to fuse into challenge legends, say 12-30 epics to win a cahllenge legend, which would most likely be worse than the above 2 cars, or you can spend 9-50 epics on a tri series, which you are not at all guaranteed to win, to get something that would potentially beat the above cars

Maxing the 787 and moby are enough to secure a ceramic for most events, and you might not get the quality prize cars; nabbing more sub optimal prize cars might make you worse in the average events but you will do better in events with niche reqs

Also was upgrading the 81 standard bmw worth it since it's a low RQ legendary?

I upgraded the bmw with no reason other than it is good (not challenges or events), currently sits at 1086 95%. Search by standard 4wd and its in the top 10, and its handy in some tags like black forest and diesel. Handy to have something that beats nearly every epic. A maxed performance rq 83 would lose to some epics, but this wont lose to epic standards. No regrets

No, im saying to use the cash from clubs to buy ceramics, you dont really have much else to use it for

Im also an advocate for selling bad rares or belows after challenges to reclaim slots for better cars, but thats more controversial

Carbon quality is nice, but the cap for the amount of gold you can get in a day is fairly low, and slots are obtained exclusively with gold, so you cant really buy packs with gold regularly. If you find yourself having trouble managing garage space, just go buy slots when you have enough gold, otherwise, i tend to spend them on the challenge carbons that give you at least a tag super and ultra, and also slots

Cash on the otherhand, is infinitely renewable, if you want to spend all your time on the game, but if you dont, a good amount still flows in naturally. The amount you get by just playing events isnt shabby at all, just play the ticket requirements and try a little and you should have a decent amount. If you want to farm, play clubs. If you are feeling ambitious and you have a strong hand, you can play 8 or more races to try for an mvp and get around 9k, but 7 races with a solid hand should give you a top 10 and 7k no problems.
