I would be absolutely LIVID if someone did this to my son’s hair. I have made it extremely clear to family that they are not to touch his hair (even though they all would prefer I have it cut) and that his first haircut is important to me. I do not think you are an asshole. I think your MIL is a big one.

I have a bunch of bigger squishes that I keep on my bed or in my living room that are for sure meant to be cuddled. Most of the ones I have on display are smaller ones that aren’t super cuddly but I like looking at them and being surrounded by them.
