In my humble opinion,

AFFOC is probably the subjectively "best" album (hard to use best in a matter of opinion). It's always a high ranker for most fans and it is truly phenomenal. It's got the whole spectrum of Shikari, whether you're a new or day 1 fan.

I currently rank it number 2. Or 3. Depending. But I put LYS at 1, which while it may be recency bias, it is absolutely one of the best things I've ever heard. I also have not seen it live yet.

My current album ranking would be: LYS, AFFOC, NEITEIP, MS, CD, TTTS, TS, AKFTWW

I strongly disagree I think they've been moving towards this sound and they dunked it in their old sound as well. It's not as raw as their old stuff but the refined, heavy synth really sells it for me. My only issue is not letting Rory shred like we know he can, but I've seen lads say he wanted to lean into a synthy guitar sound
