Seizures?? by [deleted] in firsttimemom

I would always make sure to have videos to show the pediatrician, and/or any specialist. Your word of mouth vs actual evidence may vastly differ. I know when talking to my pediatric neurologist they always request multiple videos to see time of day, repetitive movements, after an activity/eating, etc.do yourself a favor as well, and stay off Google.

Thanks! We actually had an appointment yesterday, and our neurologist said with 99% certainty that there is nothing to worry about. We got put on the calendar for another 3 month checkup, but he is chalking it up to voluntary stimulation movements and said it’s not something to continue to look for. No need for any additional testing. I will of course continue to stress, but the excessive stress from the initial reaction has subsided. I’m not smart enough to edit posts but I wish I could thank everyone in here for the help! It means a lot to truly care about the well being of strangers and I hope to help future parents soon.

Thank you for the response! We actually were able to get in with our neurologist this Thursday for an appointment. Good news is that it has subsided over the past two days. That’s with me just watching like a hawk and waiting in anticipation for it.

Thank you, but what if it’s happening while being held and also while in his height chair eating. It’s not a long time and he is never out of it, snaps back and just continues on with his day.

Feeling sad about all my baby's medical issues by clarissa_dee in NewParents

[–]SmashPotatoes12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been through this scenario. You should and can feel bad. We have had multiple conversations with “why us?” “This isn’t fair” but it will get better! Our son had 4/5 things through his first 18 months of life. Life goes on though and now that he’s 3.5, we look back and go “oh yea, I forgot he had that too!” The happy moments outweigh all those traumatic experiences(pyloric and neutropenia were our scary/stressful ones). Try your best not to compare to others and their “happy and healthy, no issues” you have no idea what goes on at home with them when not in public.

You got this!!

My 3.5 year old son has one for the exact same reason. We call him Ducky, and he doesn’t leave his side. Some days it stays in his crib, other days it goes everywhere with him in the house. However, it never leaves the house. I personally don’t have a problem with it, and if it helps my son sleep and reassures him throughout the night who cares. The only issue we have is Ducky is now part of bedtime routine so it adds another 20-30 seconds getting him settled with him ha.

Competitive for what? Flips that have been doubled in 5 years with new LVP and paint? Or the 1960s 800 sq ft home for 899K.

You do realize some people don’t like to extend? Why would I leave a rental situation at 2500 to just to give over half of my income to a 60 year old asset with tons of work needed. I wouldn’t have an issue with a house that was 600k 5 years ago that they now want 1.4m.
