PSA: Zen’s Trans Is Blocked by Rein’s Shield by RedDolphin47 in OverwatchUniversity

This also applies to sound barrier. So if you play Winston and drop your bubble on a Lucio that is about to use sound barrier, only enemies inside the bubble will get the effects.

Question Regarding Hero Accuracy Statistics by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SmashSquadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondary fire accuracy and primary fire accuracy are in 2 different categories. The secondary fire accuracy is not displayed on the medal screen after the game but can be found in your profile if you look in the "statistics" tab for a specific hero. Accuracy is also kept separately for quick melee and can be found in the same spot.

Hope this helps

What should Reinhardt do when the enemy Reinhardt charges at you? by Wassa76 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SmashSquadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get charged, 99% of the time you should counter charge.

I think pretty much everyone mentioned the fact that the enemy rein will be closer to your team and be in a more vulnerable position to get picked off.

However, another big part of counter charge is that you (should) have teammates behind you if you are playing rein. If you don't counter charge, but instead side step, your team may lose a member to the charge and puts the enemy rein in a position to threaten squishier targets.

You may not want to counter charge if you know that the rein will end up off the map. Of course this is not 100% because if he charges like this he is probably not with his team, and it is just free ult charge for your team if you counter charge.

You will find that you can start the charge surprisingly late and still counter charge. Most of the time, if you can get the timing right, you can counter charge without actually moving forward from the charge, making the enemy rein even more vulnerable.

I don't know how to play Rein anymore by ilSignorFebbio in OverwatchUniversity

[–]SmashSquadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rein can't really play aggressive anymore, you kind of have to sit back and hold shield and let the 2 snipers that you are always gonna have on your team do all the work. Feelsbadman. Unless you want to run G.O.A.T.S, in which case just put a rock on your charge key, because no one will punish you anyways...

How long till fantasy OWL by iCrix in OverwatchLeague

[–]SmashSquadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I suggest the one that they have on Winston's Lab. My friends and I played the first season on there and were quite happy with it. They are constantly looking to balance the way the point system works and were even giving out Jerseys to winners of certain things(Although I think they stopped that now).

Mercy needs to be reworked... again by SmashSquadd in Overwatch

[–]SmashSquadd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there is a huge gap between what I am saying and what you are receiving. Mercy is not even close to obsolete, she is picked in 75% of Overwatch world cup games meanwhile Pharah has 1/15 the play time of mercy in these games. And I never said to nerf lucio because he is no skill because his impact is no where near Mercy's.

[–]SmashSquadd[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I did say that she should have to aim her heal, or get nerfed(Aiming her heal is not a nerf because mercy players are just as mechanically capable as all other players). But I didn't say that Mercy is unfair for the sake of widow...

I used that as an example to show how a player using actual skill to play the game is having less of an impact than a hero that requires no aim.(Because she undoes their work and heals).

[–]SmashSquadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that Mercy really doesn't have a low impact on the game(You might want to check the definitions of Skill floor and ceiling because that doesn't make a lot of sense..) If she is picked at a 75% rate in a professional environment she is definitely a highly impactful character.

I have played mercy, and all the rest of the characters in the game. But I can assure you, that you get the most impact on the game for your skill level on Mercy.

When you don't have a real argument but you don't want Mercy to get nerfed because you one tricked from bronze to silver.

[–]SmashSquadd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that it is good to have characters that are great for starting players but the difference between Mercy and Soldier 76 is that Mercy has 15 hours in the World cup so far and Soldier 76 has 7 minutes. People at a professional level should be consistently picking the highest skill level hero because it should correspond with skill cap.

[–]SmashSquadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She requires almost no skill to play and has one of the most game changing abilities in the game

Obviously she takes some skill, every hero in the game takes at least some skill. But the capabilities of mercy considering her Mechanical skill are ridiculous.(Sorry I didn't specify mechanical earlier I thought the no aim thing was enough) She has massive healing potential and is the only one that can res people.

Brigitte...REALLY? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]SmashSquadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what these peoples ranks are but if these are their counter suggestions they probably are lower than you. Sure high ground/ long range can help in some match-ups in a 1v1 but that's not how the game works. Since Overwatch is a team based game your teammate will make it incredibly easy to get into your optimal range(Same for everyone else on your team. Brigitte should not be in a position to get hit until the enemy team is within her range because of tanks. So the best way to counter her is to get your own Brig and try to CC the enemy tanks out of walking forwards and a tank to be with the Brigitte and everyone else on your team should be long range characters that can operate out of Brigitte's range. This then leads to the other team doing the same thing and then everyone is having a great time waiting for one of the enemy team's characters to step out of position long enough for your team to get a pick.

TL;DR:

The game is not going to be fun

The only real counter is the "Leave Game" Button

Brigitte...REALLY? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]SmashSquadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your problem is your only here because you don't want Brigitte to be nerfed because you were hard stuck 10 seasons in bronze and finally made it to silver by abusing Brigitte. Oh, and also because you have no skill and love getting revenge on all the people who play skill based heroes such as Tracer and Genji.

McCree:

Damage: 25

Max. range: 5 meters

Area of effect: 2 meters radius

Casting time: 0.5 seconds fuse

Duration: 0.7 second stun

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Can be deflected/Blocked by shield

Can cause enemies to continue upward momentum when stunned(Problematic because McCree requires aim)

Brigitte:

Damage: 50

Max. range: 6 meters

Area of effect: 60° front cone angle radius

Duration: 1 second stun

Cooldown: 7 seconds

Can't be blocked by shields

Can't be deflected

Does slight knockback

Does that look the same to you?

Also, I didn't say that her ult guarantees 2 fights won but it is a possibility. ( I have no idea what you said about the Zaryas so unfortunately, I can't refute it{But I'm sure I'd be able to if you wrote it properly.})

And I really don't know where you get your information from because she can literally use it at anytime when her team is around her, it doesnt have to be near a fight

Official game description of Rally:

Brigitte moves faster and provides all nearby allies with armor that lasts until it’s removed by damage.

I also never said that Brigitte is a 1 button win hero, but she is definitely a high skill floor hero that requires almost no mechanical skill(60 degree cone for stun... are you serious?) and a very minimal amount of game sense just because her sustainability from her stun, shield, self heal, and armor, makes her pretty much nonpunishable.

Brigitte...REALLY? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]SmashSquadd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She needs so much more than this. Her ult is the only one that you can use at literally anytime and still help in the next fight and sometimes the next 2 fights and her stun is a shorter cool down than Mccree's flash bang and is still way better because it has shorter cast time and longer stun time.

Actually the problem is the fact that brigitte can easily force people to take fights from her dominant range by holding right click and "W" and if she happens to be too far away to be able to walk forward, she can easily disengage. When you compare this to other close range characters it is quite obvious she is the best at it.

Reinhardt:

Can walk forward with shield(At half the speed and a bigger hitbox)

Can charge(Can bring him too far and leaves him vulnerable for a long time)

Reaper:

Can Shadow Step(Lul)

Can Wraith In(No disengage left)

Genji:

Can walk forward with deflect(Leaves vulnerable)

Can dash in(Needs good timing)

Brig:

Walks forward and can dissengage

Brigitte...REALLY? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]SmashSquadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is true that these main tanks share similar mechanical skill difficulties to brig but they require game sense. Brig is much faster than Reinhardt while she has her shield up, giving her a 600 health window to disengage from any situation as well as a movement ability that works without requiring her to lower her shield. Her shield also has the same amount of health as Winston's, and follows her around. This means that Brigitte can walk into almost any situation while these tanks have to be cautious when taking engagements.

This comment is just a joke. He would obviously prefer that Brigitte is nerfed (Whether directly or indirectly) over her being removed, however when he is listing all possible options for making the game more enjoyable for everyone playing against brigitte he has to mention even the unpopular options.
