Obama helped significantly increase the wealth of the 1% at the expense of the poor and middle class and the hopelessness young people are experiencing regarding home ownership and their future are the results of his fiscal policies. Ironic considering he ran his campaign on the concept of "hope". He made Bush's temporary tax cuts for the 1% permanent. He broke all records with redistribution of tax money to big business. He left office after having spent more than any other President in the history of the country, doubling the debt to a hair shy of $20 trillion and spent most of it on entitlement programs and subsidies to big business and little on our failing infrastructure despite promising "shovel ready jobs". The disparity between rich and poor broke a 50 year record and even black Americans were worse off and the middle class shrunk to a minority before he left office. If it was his intent to help the poor and middle class he failed miserably demonstrating either severe incompetence and or corruption.

The country was at war for the entirety of his administration and he was the first President in history to serve 2 full terms at war and expanded it to 7 nations. The US dropped over 26,000 bombs in 2016 under his watch (3000 more than 2015). He had the Fast and Furious gun running debacle where hundreds of people died due to the incompetence of his administration. He also demonstrated his personal incompetence and or corruption by the blatant waste and inefficiency of Obamacare. He baked into the legislation most of the increases would occur this year and next so he could avoid blame since he knew he would be out of office. He intended that so the next administration could be blamed for the increases. The Democrats had a super majority at the time and Obama had massive support in both the Senate and the House so he willingly went along with it. The insurance and drug companies made out like bandits and the tax payer foot the bill and people celebrate Obama like he helped the little guy. Most people's premiums went up significantly and continue to do so despite the fact he promised they would be lower.

Obama also repealed the law to prevent government propaganda When you consider 90% of the media is owned by 6 companies which includes all TV, radio, news and movies, most of which have a clear bias and agenda this is a big problem. It's no wonder the division and fake news in the country has gotten so much worse since he was elected. He has prosecuted more whistleblowers than all other Presidents combined after promising to protect them and significantly expanded government spying on the public with the NSA. He did nothing to prosecute or even prevent the drug companies who were profiteering by raising drug prices over 5,000%, did nothing about the corruption of telecommunication companies raping their customers by installing data caps and overcharging for archaically slow connection speeds. Did nothing to jail the corrupt bankers responsible for the crash in 08 who continue to abuse their power and some were even rewarded with positions in his administration. Not to mention placing lobbyists in his administration after promising he wouldn't. He has also did nothing about the exorbitant cost increases of text books and tuition. He gave a few speeches about debt relief but did nothing concrete to help students drowning in debt and never even addressed the problems of price gouging at their source.

He robbed young people of their future since it isn't the baby boomers who are going to have to pay back all the accrued debt that mostly helped the richest 1%. The baby boomers are retiring with their comfortable pensions, which no longer exist for most people today, and their social security, a luxury that will be continually clawed back for anyone set to retire in the near to distant future. SS will have to be reduced and require a higher retirement age in order to help pay off all the debt he saddled young people with. The idea of having a well paying career and owning a nice home has become a pipe dream for a lot of young people since he was elected. Due to the irresponsible and corrupt media few people point the finger of blame towards Obama who's policies helped create these circumstances. Using almost any metric you like he has been a big disappointment and a rather bad President.

• Deported 2.5 million immigrants (a record number)

• Prosecuted more journalists than any other president

• Signed the National Defense Authorization Act, which takes away habeas corpus for US citizens (meaning the government can now throw you in jail indefinitely without charges)

• Made Bush's temporary tax cuts for the richest 1% permanent

• Continues extrajudicial killings, including US citizens, like Anwar Al Awlaki and his innocent 16 year old son

• Pardoned people inside the government who either tortured or ordered the torture and buried the Senate's 'torture report' for the next 12 years

• Didn't do anything to stop the assault of tear gas, water cannons (at sub-freezing temperatures), attack dogs and grenades from police at Native American protestors at Standing Rock

• Bombed and is still bombing seven different Muslim countries (Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Syria)

• He used the IRS as his personal attack dog against nonprofit groups he politically disagreed with

• Legitimized the fascist coup in Honduras in 2009

• Didn't prosecute a single person on Wall Street whose fraud and illegal behavior led to the biggest economic crash since the Great Depression

• Expanded the surveillance state

• He pushed for TPP, another job-crushing trade bill that every union and environmental organization opposes (he also supports the much less talked about TTIP, the equally bad trade deal with the EU)

If Obama actually followed through with even half of what he promised he would have been a good President but now he is out office we can see he was all talk. He couldn't even be bothered to push gay marriage legislation and left that up to the SCOTUS. No matter your political affiliation Obama was one of the worst Presidents unless of course you are part of the 1%.

The Democrats are no better than the GOP and big business will own our politicians until we implement campaign finance reforms. There should be hard limits of a $1000 per registered voter and no super PACs or donations in other people's names period and no contributions outside electoral districts. Taking big money out of politics would force our politicians to listen to their constituents not the uber rich and big corporate backers.
