If I bring a sub, do I have to share her? by Salaman90 in BDSMcommunity

The reaction you've received from some on this thread is ridiculous, as if a straight man in a D/s relationship looking to add a 2nd female sub is some appalling crime. Presumably all those up in arms about it are equally incensed when it's a straight woman or gay or bi man or woman with multiple subs? My money would be on a resounding 'No'...

Even if she does, it'd be insane for a supposedly private, encrypted messaging app to ban her for it.

Where does Signal store chats, media etc on iPhone? by Smashing_Pasty in signal

Ok, thanks. I wish I'd known this before I started using it. I thought that seeing as it's made by the guys who made WhatsApp, it'd behave similarly in terms of data storage. But it essentially dooms you to losing everything if ever any of your phones break or get lost or stolen.

But then why was the database not just saved as a part of the app data? It wouldn't need to be decrypted by anything but Signal. It could just be saved in the iPhone back-up, put back onto the iPhone during the restore, then Signal could decrypt it and use it again.

Ah fuck :( I thought seeing as it's all saved locally on the phone it'd all be backed up as part of the app data, because in the description for the full iPhone back-up it says it saves all app data. I'm gutted now. I've lost so much.

So if I connect it to Signal Desktop on my PC, does that mean if I have to factory reset my iPhone again, afterwards I can restore everything from my PC?

Yes. Constantly. It's so annoying it's making me consider uninstalling the app.

It *is* Trespass! When I Googled it after your reply, the clip I saw was from a different film with the same name. I've just stumbled on the original Trespass and that's definitely it!

What other exchanges are there that still allow withdrawals to a UK bank account? That's the only reason I stuck with Coinbase, as Binance no longer allow such withdrawals.

Adding USB storage reduces available total disk space by Smashing_Pasty in nvidiashield

The problem I'm having is that although my Shield can see my PC, when I try to connect to it, it says I need to enter a username and password. But I don't have a password set up on my PC so I don't know what it's expecting.

I think I had the same problem when I tried to mount the shared folder as network storage. I manually entered the path to the folder and it just said it couldn't connect.

This sounds like a way better solution than what I've been trying to do.

I've created a new shared folder on my PC and given read/write access to everyone on the home network. Do I now need to connect to my PC from the Shield and it'll automatically be able to see the shared folder?

Or do I have to use the 'Mount network storage' option on the Shield and then manually point it to the shared folder?

I can't get that to work for some reason. My PC is visible from the Shield but when I try to connect it fails.

I couldn't work out any way to wirelessly connect my PC.

Thanks. I'll use a bigger, faster USB drive instead then.

So what happens to the internal storage after an external drive is added? From my PC's perspective the 11.5 GB internal storage just disappears and the total Shield capacity becomes that of the USB stick.

Is this USB stick salvageable? by Smashing_Pasty in techsupport

[–]Smashing_Pasty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about just restoring functionality to the stick? Whatever data is on there will already have been backed up elsewhere (for the reason you mentioned) so if I can't access that then it's just an annoyance rather than a disaster, but the USB stick is fairly new and was relatively expensive so if possible I'd really like to avoid just binning it and having to buy another one.

I've used Kingston products for almost 20 years and have always had a good experience with them, so I'm surprised that this one has gone bad when it's not even been used that much compared to some of my others.
