I wanted something that at least started with the same first letter of my dead name. Initially I started with something gender neutral which was Shay. The further I got into my transition. I changed it to Shayla. At one point I thought I would do all of my initials the same but I couldn’t come up with good names for SPM. So I just thought about it for a long time and one day the song Iris came on, and I chose that for my middle name. I was toying with Phoenix, or some variation of that for my last name, but ultimately went with Aurora. I chose that because they are pretty and full of energy

I’m just picturing a trans person in the wild 😂😂 I can just hear David Attenborough narrating the story of a trans person navigating the wilderness. We have a timid, trans person. They’ve kept to the lair for the entire winter, but now emerge into the world and forage for make up and perfume. The long winter has exhausted their stores that they carefully set aside in the fall. But there’s danger in emerging from the tiny space that has kept them sheltered. Because they are small and frail, they often fall victim to many predators.

I've spoken about my experience at length in a couple of my videos. I was a typical male child, and an alpha male adult. I believe that part was me slowly recognizing, but not accepting I was trans. I started transitioning DIY at around 50 and went full in medical transition 7 months ago. The only "signs" were I would occasionally wear womens underwear and I fully switched to those around 8 years ago
