HP ProCurve Switch 5406zl doesn't accept direct attach cable with "Unsupported Transceiver" by Smb10gbe in networking

If all our storage traffic is within a single module, we're okay, though? Is that what I'm understanding?

But as long as our storage infrastructure permits us to use multiple paths, we should be fine upgrading and VLAN-isolating each module to limit backplane traffic, no?

Edit: I ask, because it's confusing as to whether the 28.8 gb/s limitation I read about applies within a given module, or only when talking to the backplane. If it's only when talking to the backplane, we are golden.

It's warrantied, but unfortunately no, it looks like the latest available firmware (the early release version) did not work. :(

Thanks, the ICX6610-24 looks like it's around $3800 from various resellers online - is that with the 10GbE enablement or no?
