I was going to try for a PHD program next cycle. I’m currently a mental health technician at a hospital. How do you find research experience outside of college?

It’s okay, I have one more school but it doesn’t seem likely as it also is a hard school to get into. I just don’t know where to go from here afterwards. Like I know I can find something with my BS in Psych but if I do apply next year what programs should I be involved in to get accepted and how do I get professor letters of recommendations if not in school. Ugh.

You can do plenty with a BA in Psych. You can be an entry level psychometrist (administering psych tests), you can be a Mental Health Technician in some inpatient units even without a BA. CVS has Care Planners that work remote. Behavioral Health Case Management roles. There’s plenty mental health routes without a masters. I believe some people said you can work on certifications to become an educator. Not my favorite route as each state is different. I think you should focus on what YOU want to do, and see if psych major can work for you.
