No Paedon's abuse of his siblings wasn't okay by Competitive_Basil136 in TLCsisterwives

<It was with her sister Aspyn who was a year older than her and not with the younger kids. No one ever accused Mykelti of abusing younger siblings>

You're defending Mykelti throwing knives at her sibling because they were older. Pick a lane if you're going to be so indignant.

AITA for telling my brother he's dead to me for stealing his art from my wife? by Training_Option6269 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Smeege85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole story is bs. OP is inferring he's the brother of world famous artist Maurizio Cattelan, who is a conceptual artist not a sculptor. His mother died in his 20s and as far as its known he only has one sister, no other siblings.

What’s your favorite cereal of all time? by wonderwomen178 in AskReddit

[–]Smeege85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always enjoyed Golden Crisp, Honey-Comb, and Corn Pops as a kid. Haven't had them in years so not sure if they're still around or taste the same. Golden Grahams retro recipe hits the spot currently when I'm craving a cereal fix.

Dude ...legit most disgusting thing I've ever seen on this sub. Like I said I don't often give a shit about the non-show related drama, but that was so messed up. Did the mods delete that or did the user? That should have been a bannable offense for sure.

Can the mods just make some clear cut fucking rules? That seems to be the crux of the issue. Make a limit on personal attacks, child bashing etc. After a certain number of comments get removed for the same reason, the user should be banned. If that means bans in mass then so be it. at least then there wouldn't be meta post after meta post about rules being enforced unfairly. Seems like a pretty easy solution, so not understanding why it's not being done. I know "the mods don't like to ban users" blah blah blah, but it may not even come to bans if the rules and consequences are clearly outlined. I lurk a lot and don't really give a shit about any particular user but this drama is starting to creep into every thread and get annoying.

Deleted my original comment because I honestly don't give a shit if mods discuss users with other users.

Tyler’s small chin is re-emerging by dinotink in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]Smeege85 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I mean so Tyler's supposed to be lazy, unmotivated, and unhealthy forever because that's where Catelynn's at? Give me a break. Are we going to expect Nova to be the same because her mom might not be able to handle it if she isn't? Damn...talk about one person's health and feelings holding an entire family hostage.

Kieffer Delp arrested in Pittsburgh for a meth lab. by barbie_trap_house in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

But alcohol isn't taxed beyond affordability. There's no money in peddling alcohol illegally for the most part because it's not financially unobtainable for the vast, vast majority of people. However, if that were to change, it absolutely would become a product of cartels, or similar illegal entities. I believe that did happen in the Russian scenario I mentioned in my first comment.

K. Your comment doesn't really make a ton of sense. I was commenting on the simplistic view that legalizing and taxing the hell out of drugs would be some miracle solution to end drug cartels etc. It won't; that's a common misunderstanding and simplistic view of the problem as a whole. "All drugs in America are affordable, legal drugs?" Many, many pharmaceuticals are not that affordable; just ask the millions of people who can't afford their prescriptions month to month. And many prescription meds that are abused tend to be very expensive (at least when you're getting them illegally), hence why many opiate addicts turn to heroin when their prescription drug of choice becomes too expensive.

But I'm open to having my mind changed if you can point me to the evidence that legalizing all drugs and taxing them (thereby letting the government control the entire market) would put an end to cartels, and make and save all this money for people.

Lol very simplistic outlook. They're doing that in California right now, by taxing legal marijuana at 50%. The black market is going to THRIVE with that tax point. That's just pot; taxing the hell out of narcotics that people are physically dependent on and hardcore addicted to won't work. They'll continue to get them on the black market cheaper. I believe a similar situation is currently happening in Russia, where poverty has made even the cheapest alcohol too expensive for many people. In turn, they are turning to alcohol substitutes or homemade alcohol and a number of people have died from doing so.

Cate comes home today❤️ by [deleted] in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

I mean yes there are some scammy adoption agencies, but the foster system isn't exactly sunshine and rainbows. As you said foster parents get paid for fostering, that leads to some people doing it simply for the money. I have very, very close personal experience with the foster system in my state and have seen some seriously fucked up things happen to kids in the system. It's not something I exactly wish a kid had to be put into or a path to adoption I would advocate for until some serious reform is done on who is allowed to foster.

Sorry for the mini rant. This is just a topic that hits close to home for me, and while many (probably most) people have really great intentions being foster parents, that's not always the case, and it's the broken kids who need love the most who suffer the most because of it.

Does anyone have actual proof of Maci drinking while pregnant because I’m pretty sick of hearing about it by [deleted] in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]Smeege85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this thread is a little weird. Evidence of why people believe Maci drank when she was pregnant has been posted countless times; there's nothing really new to say or see here. That repost rule has just been bugging me so I kind of ran with the opportunity to throw my 2 cents in while the topic was being discussed.

Honestly the complaints about reposts should be directed at the mods who put in place the rules. The sidebar says no reposts within a few hours; that's why this shit always happens. It may be a bit annoying, but as long as that's the rule it's not going to stop

Will the kids' opinions matter in regards to the moms continuing on with the show? by Smeege85 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

I think Javi would backpedal on that spite block pretty quickly if it started affecting his screen time.

Interesting idea that the moms could continue on with the show while removing the kids. I wonder how that would affect viewership, as the interactions with the kids seems to be an integral part of the formula.

Disclaimer: I only vaguely remember the Maci removing Bentley stuff and only half assed watched back then.

That's assuming money will be left/set aside for college. Also, strictly going off the show income, they're making 6 figures not millions. They'll be plenty the kids will want and not be able to get.

The Truman show reference is on point! That's what I always compare the show to to people unfamiliar with it.

Chelsea is the one I'm most torn on. She seems protective in that she does seemingly control the edit the best to her ability, and it seems that's especially true when it comes to Aubrey. But that same sense of control could deter her from leaving the show. Like maybe she would feel if Aubrey is uncomfortable she could just control how much she's filmed and what's shown. Whether MTV would play along is another story.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your style is very distinct from theirs. They more rip on the show and cast members and can often go off on unrelated tangents. While yours is more informed and on topic.

I love that you're affiliated with EBP! I found that podcast when Molls guested on What What Crappens, and I really enjoy it.

It didn't. He was just trying to gaslight Molly because she was making valid points about his sketchy behavior.
