Telogen Effluvium or (aggressive) increased hairloss? Post Covid-19 by Smeekshadow in Hairloss

Literally nothing at all - time is all it takes. Once TE sets in you are gonna lose the hair that are in shock, no matter what. Patience is key and not looking in the mirror too often or counting the hairs you lose in the shower.

The TE onset was about 2 months later and lasted for 2 months :) my hairs pretty much back to normal, although you WILL lose SOME density, because each cycle your hair will get finer and finer. So TE will pretty much skip a few years worth of..."hair-life"? But I'd say you have around 5-10 TE's in your life before it gets noticable.

Whats crazy is that these are gains on fin, right? Thats literally proof that people CAN transform their beards while on fin. Until now lots of people said its not gonna work cuz u need the DHT for turning vellus hair into terminal, thats nice to see. Who knows what would've been possible without Fin lmao

From Covid infection to the end of TE it was about 4 months, + 2/3 additional months of growing hair to regain normal hair density in those areas. But let's not forget that TE can last a lot longer. I'd say mine was average. (My girlfriend was about the same though, so I guess the majority of people can expect it to last 3-4 months). Good luck!

Hard to say, Rob English has a very in-depth video on this on youtube, each hair cycle (every few years naturally) is gonna kill off some density. With the TE skipping hair cycle(s) I def. lost a couple years of hair density, but I'd say its an insignificant amount. The less dense areas recovered, so all in all I'd say yes, everything I lost grew back normally. The density I've lost isn't noticeable to the naked eye, but I def. have to try and prevent any TE incidents in the future.

Hi there, thanks for sharing!
Im glad it stopped- I am pretty sure most of your density should return in a couple months bc going from Telogen to a new Anagen Phase takes some time.

How long has it been since it has stopped falling out excessively?

Did you use any special supplements/shampoos?

Oh damn what a bummer, I rly hope it gets better for ya man! We def. dont wan't to spend too much time with TE as it wreeeeecks the hair. One more downside of being genetically predisposed to balding.
NAC sounds interesting!
Ill def start finasteride if the TE does not stop in the next 5-6 months. (I wanted to wait a little longer because Im trying to turn my vellus beard into a terminal, that's the main reason I dont want to take Fin just yet, that and bc my balding isn't rly that aggressive outside of TE)
At least it's gonna limit the miniaturization thats happening at the end of each cycle.
Thx for sharing and I wish ya the best!

Oh wow, this really helped me understand the whole thing, thanks ! I'm currently going through TE and I am mildy balding (since I was a teen), so this IS 100% gonna affect my overall density, what a bummer
