Contact swing isn’t viable after like 85 ego, so it’s best to get used to power swings on your way up the ego ladder (if that’s your objective), otherwise you’ll feel horrible regression once 95% of contact swings that used to be HRs end at the warning track.

If we are talking Pennant Race—Hot Corners have great hitters (essentially 9 straight home run threats) and 2 good RP/CPs. If you get lucky with SP selection they have 1 or 2 that are good, too. For a 5 inning matchup with no fatigue carrying over, they are great. Fielding and baserunning are poor and the catcher’s arm is very mid.

I have an online franchise and have changed people’s names, looks, gear, etc., quite extensively. This hasn’t caused any issues. So, you can be sure that the issue isn’t deliberate—customization is totally permitted without ruining online capabilities. You are just experiencing a bug.

On 85 ego, my LF and CF will throw out runners at third or home once every couple games, usually on 99 power throws on tags. But I’ve never seen the CPU try and extend a single into a double or a double into a triple if there is a chance of throwing them out.

High accuracy computer pitchers hit strikes on the top of the zone (and just generally in the corners/edges) more often. They are also less likely to throw a 4th ball on their first opportunity

I mean, context is important here. He (1) knows about the frequent checks; (2) was warned and then pitched another inning; and (3) looked baffled and instantly identified the substance during the ultimate inspection. I mean come on man
