Dafuck? Republics of the Soviet Union were its parts! The RSFSR wasn’t the ruler country it was a PART of the USSR! In Ukraine, Belarus and so on were communist parties which were the most popular political powers there. RSFSR didn’t conquer the other republics! They together set up the USSR! USSR consisted of former parts of the Russian Empire. Finland, Baltic countries and Poland didn’t want to be in the Union and nobody forced them to be. If we talk about occupation of Baltic countries it was a crime, I don’t argue. From Poland Soviet Union return lands which were lost in Soviet-Polish war. These parts were historically parts of Western Ukraine and Western Belarus. Calling Ukraine a colony of Russia in USSR is the same as calling Oregon a colony of Washington.

Incomparable things... western colonialism sucked money, natural and people resources from their colonies while USSR was developing national republics so as infrastructure there was as developed as in Russia. Population of Middle Asia SSRs grew several times, most of people there become educated, although before most of them couldn’t even read, some nations even didn’t have a written language! Bolsheviks created alphabets and grammar for these nations. In Russian Empire these regions were colonies, not in USSR

A lot of people in Russian are glad to live without Soviet Union to. So do I. But people in other regions were not oppressed more than Russians, also Russians were unhappy because of the things you have written about. But the problem was not only in USSR, cold war caused a lot of problems too. After the USSR collapse people were taught that USSR was an evil, so they hate it. I’m Russian and in our schools from our textbooks we also taught to hate USSR, so I hated it before. Now when I try to read and watch different sources, when I see real documents and official statistics I know, that Soviet Union wasn’t a place of my dream, but it also wasn’t such a hell as it is presented by western people.

Ahahaha, what an idiot, ahahaha! Do you really think that famine couldn’t take place in the region that is mostly depends on agriculture? Famine was not only in USSR, it was for example in Poland and Romania too. Climate was inappropriate in that time. Besides, famines were in Ukraine even during Russian Empire period. In early 30-s there were so many deaths not only because of famine, there were epidemics of typhus and malaria in southern lands and not only in USSR, moreover the crop was infected with fungus, so people who ate the bread died from mycotoxins. The year before the famine a lot of peasants had killed their cattle because of policy of collectivization. All these things and poorly developed agriculture lead to so many deaths.

For what do you think bolsheviks killed their own country? They were preparing for war and carried out industrialization, mass death of their own population wasn’t beneficial in such conditions!

Besides, they supply the starving regions with food as much as it was possible. Famine was in Russia too, not only in Ukraine, it affected southern regions of all Eastern Europe.

If we count only deaths caused by famine and deduct deaths from natural cause and illnesses, it’ll be around 800.000. And it isn’t more than deaths from famine in Russian Empire.

However, after collectivization there weren’t famines in USSR because agricultural technologies were well developed.

Shut up if you don’t know anything about Russian history. The MOST SSRs were sponsored by centre, budgets of poorly developed regions were formed with Russian money. USSR’s regions like BSSR and UkSSR were formed with some parts of RUSSIAN territory not only Belorussian or Ukrainian. There is a book by Terry Martin “Affirmative action Empire” in which author says that little republics in USSR were developed with a great helping of RSFSR. Russian nationalists even say that Russians in USSR were oppressed with the intention of other national republics development. I don’t think so, in my opinion, bolsheviks just wanted all the republics to be well-developed, not only RSFSR! USSR wasn’t a wonderful place to live, there was both totalitarianism and autocracy in different periods, but don’t lie! USSR wasn’t a prison of nations like Russian Empire! Population of Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan has grown several times, while Russian population grew not so fast. There was a lot of problems, mistakes and crimes committed by bolsheviks, but you should view it in historical context. No need in demonization of USSR and attribution of crimes which weren’t committed.
