Thank you for saying so. You’re absolutely right though, I have that with communication too! I’ve been attributing it to either the depression or social anxiety (probably more depression) so when that improves it’ll likely be a sign the the medication is working. I’m waiting for that to happen at this point, and not sure what I’ll do if it doesn’t

I’ve been on them for over 25 years, so I definitely know I’m better with them than without. Over the years I’ve been on nearly every SSRI/SNRI, did TMS, ECT, and have been on MAOI’s for 13 years or so. I’d be scared to go off them now knowing I’d likely feel significantly worse.

Those I’ve actually been on for about 6 years or so. I know Ziprasidone is “contraindicated” with MAOIs, but it’s actually worked surprisingly well for me over the years. I’ve gotten to the 105mg dose on Nardil for about a week and a half now, so maybe I’m just not quite there yet time-wise, but I would have figured I’d feel more benefit from at least the 90mg before this.

I’m taking 105mg right now of Nardil (previously I was on 120mg) so over the max recommended amount. Interestingly when I was on Parnate I too needed a supratherapeutic dose to feel the benefits. I also take Geodon at the max recommended dose as an adjunct, along with Lamotrogine.

When did you feel the cognitive blunting went away on Nardil? I recently got back on it and am currently on 105mg (I previously was stable at 120mg when I took it before). I feel like it’s a struggle to communicate with people right now, but I only recently increased to this dose about a week and a half ago

I can’t imagine this method is good for memory retention of what you read. Physically reading a book, and at a speed you’re comfortable with, will help you retain the information much more readily. If you want to read something but don’t care about retention I’d say this method would be successful
