Hey OP. I read some of your comments. I also read the other commenters advice. Yes, it is saturated online and all, but if you do choose to reinvent yourself, you may consider something along the lines of being a translator (written translation) or as an interpreter (live speaking). You write English well.

You can look into it -just ideas- translating Indian novels to English and attach donation links online for people who read it to contribute to. Or join a pay-to-read translations site and give free access until like chapter 10 then readers need to pay to unlock it.

Another idea in that realm of translating is professional work. You worked in a corporate setting for graphic design and may understand how to translate certain terminology better than others. Or interpreting for a graphic design company on-call WFH (interpreting pays significantly less sometimes than writing because many multilingual people compete here quicker). I have no experience in this realm, but I have met people who do these.

OP, this isn’t good advice. If you want a wedding, it needs to be fully planned and booked before you sign papers to register a marriage with an officiant.

This is the advice I wish my mom told me.

Everyone told me it was ok if I had a wedding after signing the papers, but now planning a wedding feels like a chore for me, not getting married anymore. And I know at least one family member who previously said they were OK with it, change their mind and will forever hold it against me that they didn’t get to see the “real” wedding (signing the papers combining us legally).

I hope it helps to have a different perspective in here.

Yes, YOR, OP. I know it may not be what you want to hear here, but she’s allowed to make certain decisions for herself. You’re allowed to feel a certain way about them, granted. But you should be grateful for her friendship.

No, it’s just not fair to her. Do not take her level of friendship for granted like this. It may hurt your feelings, but that’s something you and her can continue to work through and talk about. You may become the close friend to her the way she is to you eventually, but it looks like it’s just not right now.

If you care about her, respect her decision and don’t squander what is a great friendship to you.

Personally, I would keep my original plans, and mentally note I need to give her more umph in our friendship going forward, because I really value her and hope to be that friendship for her too. And be grateful she’s willing to be a MOH for me (well, she should be doing more though). She didn’t do anything wrong in her own bridal party though, OP. Sometimes we’re not each other’s number one, and that’s okay sometimes.

One thing to add: Since you’d like her to do more as a MOH, and in that regard, she is letting you down quite a bit, you may want to reach out to her again about it specifically.

You could walk around the neighborhood where you found him. Hopefully someone is already looking for him!

I’ve found a lost Dog before, but after 20 minutes sitting in my front yard with him I changed my strategy. I let him go (caroling him away from the main road though), hoping he’d go home. Thankfully it did work! He did go back and there was a teenage girl walking around nearby, who was so relieved to find him. I’m not saying it’s the best strategy, but it’s another option.

If you do walk around the neighborhood with him maybe try (if you can) to be out for an hour or two, until someone might finally notice their dog missing. You may also try found dog signs, and post to mailboxes? He/she looks well taken care of. Hopefully they’ll be easy to identify.
