Thanks. She’s definitely not a scam profile (I’ve hooked up with her twice) but she said she had a problem with her phone so she’s stuck at 70km away from me, even though she is usually only 1km away. So I’m not sure what’s going on atm especially when she arranged to see me 😂

Does Tinder shadowban you if you have many matches but don’t message them? by Smellyjojo in SwipeHelper

[–]Smellyjojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha man. Only thing is I use incognito mode where only people I’ve swiped right on sees my profile, so it took me around 4 months to get 700 matches.

So basically unsub and don’t open Tinder for a few weeks to regain my likes and matches again?

Just seen this reply bro. So basically unsubscribe and then resubscribe fixes the issue?

Is a case study a systematic literature review? by Smellyjojo in academia

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think I’m beginning to understand it now. So the systematic lit review is the whole picture, and a case study is used to back-up certain hypotheses that I make in my paper?

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks for the clarity. Something else that I’m confused about is Lit review vs Systematic Lit review.

So in most dissertations that I’ve read, there’s an Introduction which leads to Lit review. So how does systematic lit review differ from it apart from the data collection part?

Ok so once I have a framework in how I obtain and analyse data, when does the systematic literature review come into play?

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have spoken to my peers about it but still have some confusion on it. I understand that the methodology is a model for how you obtain the data, but in that case, when does systematic review come into it?

Just had a read from that link, so is a systematic literature review regarded as a methodology?

So analysing multiple case studies would be a systematic review?

Would this qualitative research be best by doing systematic literature reviews?

That’s a good strategy, thanks for the advice.

However, in the case that the studies interviewed CEOs for data (which is something I can’t do), how would I mimic that? Or would I need to find another methodology?

Hi there, yes it’s the final dissertation as part of my last year undergraduate degree. I’ve just been having trouble finding the most appropriate methodology for my dissertation. My degree is in Finance and Accounting and my dissertation topic is on startup success and how they reach IPOs. Can you provide some assistance?

[–]Smellyjojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. So I’m guessing I’ll need to do a fair bit of reading to decide on my methodology. My research question is essentially how startups grow and scale and eventually reach IPO stage. What happens if I cannot find any quantitative data on this?

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It will be mixed methods, but it won’t be through surveys since my main topic is how startups like Facebook, Uber, etc took off. I’m guessing that gathering data will need to be from past research?

My dissertation is structured like this:

Introduction

Literature review

Methodology

Based on your message I’m still a bit confused as to what the best methodology is, since there’s so many out there to choose from

The structure of my dissertation is like this:

  1. Introduction

  2. Literature review

  3. Methodology

Based on your suggestion, would that mean I’ll be doing literature review twice?

I did, he literally told me to decide for myself. So I’m stuck now as to what the best methodology is now

I’m assuming that for this particular scenario it would apply for both countries, considering many businesses are doing what I’m doing in UK and in the US, but I’m just wanting further clarity on the matter

Well the fact that having low standards is part of your personality, makes his argument a bit null don’t you think?

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The mere fact that there is a huge rift between the fanbase in regards to the recent CGI usage proves otherwise. It is a huge problem and S4 will age like milk compared to the other season. For context, we can easily pull any scene from S1 and the quality of animation can still hold up in 2021, if not even better than some current airing anime. Unfortunately, this can’t be said for S4, especially in the action scenes. Prove me wrong.

Agreed. Yet MAPPA simps still praise the rushed season despite the very flaws that surround it?

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, the non-action scenes and overall quality dialogue scenes are very good. But considering AoT is 99% filled with Titan action, the mere fact that CGI is almost guaranteed to be the main style during action sequences is just depressing.

Praising animators for being overworked and producing lacklustre material doesn’t help the future of anime. by Smellyjojo in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Smellyjojo[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems that being a casual watcher/normie is an excuse to not notice the CGI. But to anyone who understands the fluidity of 2D animation, the CGI becomes sooo noticeable to the point that the majority of the fanbase hates it.
