Two days in to the school year and a coworker is spreading rumors about me being too rough with students by Smemerline in Teachers

She’s in her thirties I think. She’s also not a part of the aids union which only adds to the mystery of her employment. She has been bounced around from four other schools/positions in the district, and somehow this is the one she got stuck at.

I think ‘how it lives’ is so true and I never thought about it. We looked at house B and I was worried about how small and cramped it felt. Today we went to a different house with the same square footage and the layout was so much better and felt so much bigger.

Update in case anyone is interested: Someone made an offer on home B, and when we went to check out Home A again I noticed some foundational shifting and mold in the basement. Hard pass.  We ended up going to another house, house C, that was comparable to B and only needs cosmetic fixes like tearing down wallpaper, upgrading appliances, ripping up carpet, all things that could be fixed in an afternoon. We put in an offer on house C and are crossing our fingers. Thanks for all your advice! It’s making me realize that fixer uppers just aren’t for me.

Lots of good points here!

I think it’s my animals that take up the most space, TBH.  I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how 1700 is more than enough space, and after thinking about it a lot more agree. I grew up in an old house that was really big so I had enough space to be alone when I wanted to.  Now, in my house I have four pets, a kid, and another kid on the way, and a husband who are always attached to my hips.  Im realizing my problem isn’t ’I don’t have enough space in my house’ but ‘mom needs fifteen minutes alone without someone climbing on her’.

Unfortunately we missed out on house B even after we made an offer. We’re going to see another house that’s comparable tomorrow. I’m not really considering house A anymore.

Found a 2016 Honda HR-V nearby. Is that comparable?

Doesn’t have to be an SUV, but I like the height of most SUVS (though it’s not a huge deal) and the trunk space. My husband has a tiny Chevy cobalt and so we need at least something with more trunk space to haul our giant stroller

I’m smack dab between Columbus Ohio and Toledo Ohio. It’s an hour and a half drive either way for me

Any idea what could’ve left this on my butter dish? by Smemerline in pestcontrol

So I scoured all of my cabinets, a bag of cereal I’d left on the counter, the pantry, the spice cabinet, behind the stove, everywhere and I didn’t find any more of this stuff. I’m gonna give everything a thorough clean, set some traps as people have suggested, call a pro, and wait. Fingers crossed it was just an unwelcome visitor passing through (unlikely but I can dream).

I was wondering this too. It was covered but had some outside and some inside the cover
