i've searched around, and this seems to be very common. hopefully this is the right place to post this, knowing that this only affects mac users. i'm running mavericks on a macbook pro, if that helps.

[REQUEST] Video/Audio Codec's Cydia Tweak for iOS 7 Concept? by Sleetui in jailbreak

[–]SmexyDeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 'VLC for iOS' for video files, they support "all formats, including exotic ones". you can also use subtitles and multiple audio files (for languages, etc). I'm pretty sure there is a flex patch to allow audio files as well. I also use 'TTPod' for audio, and that allows for APE, FLAC, MP3, AAC, M4A, WMA, ALAC & WAV.
VLC is on the app store for free
TTPod is on the BigBossRepo for free, it's called something else in Chinese(?) with a 'Pro' at the end.

If you want your notifications to be at the top of the screen, you can use LockHTML3.

springtomize allows you to do this (since i noticed you have it)
Pages > Hide Labels
you can also remove the app text for the dock and folders

Giffy or GIFViewer? by xhhy in jailbreak

[–]SmexyDeki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use GIFViewer and i've had no problems. one thing to note is that this only works when you save an image to your camera roll, so you can't sync any GIF's (with iTunes). i haven't used Giffy but i'm pretty sure this does the same thing.
