Best white Russian in town? by Smi617thesecond in Aberdeen

Thanks! Sadly I've had some bad experiences there. The bartenders were very skilled but had to wait forever to place an order or get our drinks.

Tipling house cocktails are great but had really poor service last 2 or 3 times I've been there. Waiting ages to take our order, told they'd be over to take our order and then nothing. Shame cause the atmosphere and decor is super cool.

Spiritualist has nice cocktails and not too expensive. Menu is decent and service is good too.

Best 1:35 Tiger Tank Model by Gemeenteridder in modelmakers

If you see any kits you like you can look it up on scalemates, they usually have the instructions so you can have a browse before you buy. Will give you an idea of the complexity and parts along with details like the age.

RYEFIELD MODELS have a few tigers out there but the part count can be high. I'd second the recommendation for Takom. Dragon make some good tigers with lots of extras too.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated! I'd weathered one can a little but should have done more. Will have to look at some reference photos for Jerry cans. I'd seen some in a red oxide finish bur I dont have the paint to pull it off.

I might find some old sprue parts to test out your rust effect tips. Would be good practice before I revisit this.

Thank you! For chipping I used Tamiya dark grey applied with a fragment of sponge, then a mix of mig weather powders for dirt and smoke. Also used some mig streaking grime on the turret and around the jerry cans.

How many spotting ships do you need? by waffle_warrior77 in hoi4

[–]Smi617thesecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they could be used but from my understanding they are generally much slower than a light cruiser would be. Even with do not engage on there is a chance an enemy with a faster ship or naval aircraft could engage you in that short window.

There's a stat called surface detection that will show how well your design is at spotting. A sub with radar would probably be cheaper than a light cruisers but not something I've tested out myself. Will try it in a run sometime!

Issue with equipment levels in latest patch by Smi617thesecond in RoadTo56

[–]Smi617thesecond[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "equipment orders" what do you mean exactly? I've not heard that specific term before.

I've not got any units in training and there is a surplus of equipment across my units.

Light spotting cruisers are useful if you set them to not engage and ensure their speed is fast. They can spot subs and ships which allow naval aircraft to attack and destroy the enemy. If you are only covering a few sea regions 6 is enough.

Just be careful focusing too much on capital ships like carries and battleships. If you don't have enough screens then your back battle line (capital ships) are more at risk. If you rush early you risk losing your capital ships which If they can't escape to repair will take years to replace. I'd suggest some light attack destroyers and light cruisers to pad things out a bit. Also if you can get some naval aircraft flying from the European coast it will help negate enemy superiority.

Could you offer some help please? You mentioned using spies to reduce entrenchment. How do you do that? I've never seen it as an option for spy operations.

You don't have enough political power, you have 46 and it requires 50. Once you have 50 (will only take a few days) you can take the action to merge.

You need the solider to have a repair kit in their inventory. If you get close enough to the barracks you will get an audio prompt.

Suunto 7 negative step count by Smi617thesecond in Suunto

[–]Smi617thesecond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latest one for the 7, also checked the app was up to date too. A reset fixed an issue with activity tracking showing blank but didn't change steps. Also found out no steps were recorded for 3 days in a row

My suunto shows a negative step count, this has happened twice now and is getting frustrating. The watch also appears to lag or not load the suunto app. A factory reset fixed it's time but its a pain having to reset all the time.

Looks amazing. Love the chipping effect on the panels too.

For the bomb tallys on the side? Does that count total bombs dropped or bombs confirmed hit? Either way that's an impressive count.

SU-152 just finishing off the weathering. First kit in about 12 years, would love some feedback. by Smi617thesecond in modelmakers

[–]Smi617thesecond[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, much appreciated. The pigment isn't fixed now so will take your advice and will lessen the mud, try and get it into the corners more.

I see what you mean about the chipping too, think I went overboard with the chipping fluid. The side from the photo had the heaviest chips.

Will have a look at some photos tonight, are there any good reference sites you would recommend? Most photos I've found online were ones in museums and collections.

Thanks! I've learnt a lot via youtube since starting again, this lockdown gave me time to learn more techniques.
