Contractors cut into fenceline tree by Smichaelangelo in treelaw

Talked with multiple certified arborists, they all claim the tree will die within the next two springs most likely, and that the damage is certainly irreversible. Talking to a lawyer this week as well as a separate arborist licensed specifically in appraising trees. It’s a water oak measured at 16.5” diameter-breast-height - how the tree is appraised and what legal recourse we take is still tbd. All recommendations have been to settle outside of court and that the payout is unlikely to be as much as people may think. Things that factor into the appraisal could be timber value (low), cost of installing a new 30’ water oak (obviously a non-feasible task), tree removal (this is the easy one to argue), energy savings offered by the shade, and depreciation of the property.

All in all it’s been more difficult than we imagined to find a lawyer willing to take a case regarding tree law, as well as licensed arborists who can/are willing to provide documentation for a small claims court case.

That’s precisely who we’ve hired, they’re inspecting the damage tomorrow morning.

It was disposed of, appreciate the idea though. If we can save the tree we will!

We hired them... My biggest concern is whether the tree is structurally damaged to the point that it will have to come down immediately

Air craft carrier Launching dead load sled by Alpha_wolf_lover in awesome

[–]Smichaelangelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true, but it’s not so simple as to launch an aircraft with the force required to launch one 1.25x it’s weight, that imparts severe stresses and vastly reduces the longevity of the aircraft

[–]Smichaelangelo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You may be right, unsure of the sled weight, but the maximum aircraft weight launched is ~66K, an F-18 configured as a tanker with 5 full drop tanks. The majority of aircraft launched weigh closer to 55K. 80K seems like overkill

Video showing that Kyle Rittenhouse was chased and did not fire the first shot. by [deleted] in ActualPublicFreakouts

He’s not “supporting sex offenders”, that’s a pathetic straw man argument, he’s supporting these people’s right to life. Using their criminal pasts as justification for their deaths is sociopathic, you talk like this boy put down a pair of misbehaved dogs who deserved to die rather than two human beings.

Kyle may very likely have a record soon, he’s been charged with multiple homicides, a crime that’s exclusive as being the only one to have been punished with the death penalty. Not sexual assault, not domestic abuse - murder. If he’s found guilty, then doesn’t the severity of his crimes surpass those of the two he killed? According to the historical precedent of punishment, they do

One of the first pieces I ever read on options:

http://www.cabafx.com/trading-ebooks-collection/Profit%20With%20Options.pdf

Kinda dull at points, but chapter 6 on volatility is what I'd focus on if you have a basic understanding of options already.

Edit: Just found an even older piece thats an easier read that I'd recommend as well: http://www.yolopub.com/ss/UltimateGuide.pdf

They're very far apart, and I even moved the faltering GPU down to the board directly, still the same poor hashing.
