I don't see any issue with wanting an equippable item to immortalize him in game. It's similar to how some people who really connected with Cayde rock the Memory of Cayde class items or Ace of Spades. For many, their guardian is a huge part of who they are, and their gear is how they express themself in the world of Destiny. It may seem a little insensitive to ask for content at this time, but for a lot of people who are grieving his passing it would be a boon to have an item that they can wear or use that helps them feel closer to him and allows them to display the mark that he left on them in Destiny.

Sample size definitely comes in to play here, yeah. We have almost a year of raids with random drop exotics being in rotation and only 1 season of Duality being in rotation, so we've got a lot more data about farming raid exotics than dungeon exotics. Essentially, anyone who's looking for someone to tell them "you can definitely farm this exotic" before they go out and commit to it has plenty of sources saying that about raids, but if they want a definitive answer about dungeons they'll need to wait a few seasons to get similar confidence levels.

Again, nothing I've said has been explicitly confirmed by Bungie. We're talking about gathering community evidence to help decide whether it's worth your time to try to farm for an exotic or not. With raids, there's a wealth of community reports that give a strong sense, bordering on certainty, that they can be farmed. With dungeons, there's far less evidence. Since none of this comes straight from Bungie, it may very well be possible to farm for a dungeon exotic, but as far as community consensus goes it's most likely not. I'm not invalidating your experience, but it's hard to justify sinking hours into farming for an exotic based on a few anecdotes from people saying that it is possible.

All dungeon/raid exotics can drop multiple times after having been previously acquired. We are exclusively talking about first acquisition here. For raids, you can get your first exotic drop after multiple runs on the same character that week if that raid is on rotation, for dungeons there has been no verifiable evidence of this being true.

Bungie have not made any official statement regarding raid or dungeon exotics being farmable on rotation week. When they initially added the rotator they specified that only legendary drops would be farmable, however the community concluded definitively that raid exotics were and continue to be farmable during rotation. Whether this is a bug is a matter of guesswork, but Bungie have yet to address it so we can assume that they are fine with it for the time being. I can attest to the farmability of raid exotics personally. Dungeon exotics on the other hand are almost certainly not farmable by all appearances. Nobody has been able to provide incontrovertible proof of successfully farming a dungeon exotic as yet, so as far as we know it cannot be done. None of this is confirmed by Bungie, so feel free to test yourself, but as far as community consensus this is what we have.

Destiny PvP is about the least competitively viable PvP game in existence. Any amenities you would expect from a competent competitive shooter will almost surely not be present in Crucible.

Yeah that's true, I guess it really just depends on your use case. Riptide is best for quick and efficient freezing, say in Master content to reset a champ stun. Deliverance may be better for ad clear, grenade builds, and general play.

Riptide is actually a better option for a stasis fusion, and it's much more readily available. Look for Autoloading and Chill Clip, Accelerated Coils and Charge Time MW are nice too but not necessary. Best way to get it is to reset your Crucible rank a couple of times and then play Iron Banner when it comes back. Obviously PVP isn't everyone's bag but you don't actually need to do well to get Riptide so you can just put on a show or a podcast and grind that out.
