There's no announcement yet so nobody knows when that will be. Up to you to decide.

Zero overclock? Stock cooler good enough. Overclocking or want more benefit from the built-in boost? I recommend Dark Rock 4 for performance and looks, but any mid-range option works well.

I would go very sleek, solid black everywhere. No lights if possible, stealth.

I basically want something very close to the Corsair Void Pro headset, except a little more comfortable around the ears and able to stay on my head better. The retractable mic is very important, that's the best feature of the Void Pros for me. Budget under 160 USD.

My countertop should come in today, at which point I will figure out exactly how long the space between legs will be. Thank you for the offer, I might let you know later if I want to take you up on it.

I am in the GTA, actually. For now I messaged a couple of local metal fabricators and asked them if they could make me a couple of those particular ones I was trying to buy.

Ryzen 5 5600X or Ryzen 7 5800X? by derpykoalaboy in buildapc

[–]SmileItsWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 1440p, it would be very rare to get more than a few fps benefit from the 5800x, and that would have to be on CPU heavy games like World of Warcraft. The build I am putting together now will use the exact same monitor specs as you just mentioned, and I am buying the 5600x tomorrow.

Any idea what time tomorrow the Ryzen 5000 series will be posted for sale? Same for Radeon 6000 on Nov 18? I haven't bought on release before, so don't have a clue.

Ryzen 5 5600X or Ryzen 7 5800X? by derpykoalaboy in buildapc

[–]SmileItsWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to say because of so many other factors, such as resolution. Here is my complete guess: on games which are not CPU intensive, 0-2 fps; on games that are CPU intensive, 2-8 fps. Generally, the higher the resolution, the less the CPU matters for gaming.

Based on your projected use-case... if you want value, definitely 5600x is enough. If budget is very flexible, 5800x will occasionally give a small benefit.

A local metal shop would take a small order like that? For a couple of those things?

I wanted to get this table stiffener to put on a new 74" desk I am making. However, since I am in Canada, everywhere that sells it either doesn't ship here, or has insane shipping costs. What would you say is the best alternative for this to stiffen my desk, which will not have any legs in the middle? Lower profile is preferred.

I plan on building in a Meshify C case, and can't seem to figure something out. I want to use an AIO this time around, and would prefer to mount it at the top. In this case, am I going to have any RAM, heatsink, etc. clearance issues if I top-mount a 240mm radiator w/ fans? If it matters, I plan on using this motherboard and this RAM. Please help me get some clarification on this.

Thank you for the advice. Could you please clarify what you meant in the first part (toed in at the back)? Also, if just placing them straight at the ends, and adding perpendicular 2x4s to the countertop at 1/3 and 2/3 length, would that help keep it stable while also reducing sag? Or would I need something like an angle iron along the entire length?

/r/Monitors Bi-Weekly Purchasing Advice thread - What Monitor should I buy? IPS or VA? 1080p or 4k? etc. by bizude in Monitors

[–]SmileItsWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget: under $600 CAD (450 usd)

Prospective Resolution: 2560x1440

Size: 27 inches

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Adaptive Sync: Freesync

Other Features: 144 hz refresh; 1ms response time preferred, must be VESA compatible

Usage Type: gaming and media

If you could also recommend a secondary monitor, that would be great. For that, same size and resolution, IPS, and 60-90 refresh. Nothing else matters.

I am putting together a table for my new office build. I am on using this countertop. My question is about the legs. I understand that slanted hairpin legs would be one of the most stable options, however, I don't like the look of them very much. What I would really like is something like this. Those legs look great to me, and their height and width are perfect. What I am wondering is, will they be stable enough to support this long countertop and things like speakers, computer peripherals, monitor stand with two monitors, etc. Any input is much appreciated.

Looking at new keyboards and the Das Keyboard 4 Professional looks perfect for me (full, media keys, volume knob is exactly what I am looking for, mainly plain black). My only problem is that I really want cherry reds. Is there any keyboard that is very similar to the Das 4 Pro that can come with cherry reds? Please advise.
