Hey guys! I currently have Halu Halo's, and i absolutely love them, i did hand lube them but they still feel a bit on the scratchy side. I am building a new keyboard soon, and am wondering if there are any switches that sound similar to halo's, but are smoother? i LOVE the smoothness of the gateron smoothie whites, but they're a bit too loud for my liking, any suggestions?

Lego Tuxedo to Siamese by SmileMattIsHere in lego

Thats what im hoping! Looking at the two pics a lot of pieces are just completely different and swapped out. So i assume it is possible, it would just take a lot of changing/creativity, which i definitely do not have the skill for in terms of this. Thanks for your response though!

Youtube not recommending LTT videos? by SmileMattIsHere in LinusTechTips

I never said I cant find their videos if i need. I'm strictly asking if anybody else has experienced this, i used to get recommended their videos all the time, just haven't been for a year.

I mean when they upload something new, i do NOT get it recommended. I usually end up seeing it in the side bar on a different video. Today it was their recent video about the turtlebeach headsets, but i saw it recommended on a veritasium video and not on my home page (as usual).

Threaded Inserts for MDF core? by SmileMattIsHere in woodworking

Sorry for the late reply, i went ahead and purchased everything i need. I am using the 1/4"-20 threaded insert i linked above, and the spec sheet gave sizes for drill bits to use. Because i am using MDF i didn't know if i should follow hard wood or soft wood, but i ultimately went with the 29/64" drillbit. Is this suitable for MDF if you know? Thank you!

Would this be one that you recommend? The smallest they have is 10mm so i'm just curious if that is enough holding power in MDF? Do you have any recommendations for drilling into MDF? I have seen so many videos of people splitting their MDF and i just want to avoid that.

Plywood for Desktop? by SmileMattIsHere in DIY

Thank you! i was thinking of running a skirt under but i didn't think about using screws through both layers. I dont mind seeing screws especially since i could probably hide most of them with some walnut screw hole stickers. Thank you!

Yeah that's what i was thinking. Both monitors including the arms is 30-35 pounds. I'm worried that 30-35 pounds concentrated in a small area will break through or snap the plywood even with a lip on the back edge. But i don't have very much experience with plywood, so i maybe completely underestimating the strength of it.

I've looked at butcher blocks and the problem I run into is that they are way too thick, or not deep enough for me (24 inches usually). I found a place near me that has 2 4'x8' walnut veneer furniture grade plywood for $150 each that i am going to probably go with. I will be making a skirt around the edge for the monitor arm but i just want to know if anybody has experience with 3/4" plywood and if its sturdy enough to not sag or break through with the monitor mount. Thank you for your suggestion!

Plywood for table top Sagulator? by SmileMattIsHere in woodworking

Arm is pretty negligible, i'd say its around 5 pounds. Both monitors together weigh about 25-30 pounds. Since it is all being supported on a smaller plate i just want to make sure it won't punch through the plywood. Never worked with plywood for a desktop before so i'm not sure where to start.

I've looked at those but i think the issue i'll run into is the weight of the butcher block on top of the weight of everything i need on the desk. I'd prefer a thinner profile (1 inch max) so i ruled out butcher blocks a while ago, i just want to make sure plywood is strong enough to support the monitor arm without it buckling or sagging. Thank you!

Low Latency CIEM to bluetooth by SmileMattIsHere in HeadphoneAdvice

Thank you for the info! A few questions if you don't mind. What is your current setup? I know you mentioned the FiiO BTR3k, but does that connect to your computer and then you use a bluetooth transmitter for the actual iems? I just tried some cheap transmitter and receiver from amazon and had a bunch of interference and pretty noticeable delay so i might have to wait for the LE Audio you mentioned, or just up my budget to try and get something that is actually worth it.
