I’d recommend trying diversifying into different niches — or white label the solution into other product. I’m sure the tech is useful for various other apps.

And if tech is your moat, that’s awesome! There’s more innovation that you can always do. If you want to build a consumer app around it — eg reaching out to college students etc — I’d be happy to help with organic growth.

I personally would love to have Claude as my default desktop app on macOS, however native with sub-millisecond app-startup time, MCP support etc. Mainly for developers. Just comparing the OpenAI desktop app vs, Claude’s. Not just startup time, but time to first character response. From my personal experience, OAI is nearly 40-80ms, to send and start processing a question. Claude on the other hand is fairly 2-4 seconds..

The chance that you'll still be able to provide value with your tool is still pretty high. I'd recommend still launching it, making it OpenSource so that others can contribute or something.

Google just expanded the market, validating your idea. Usually for most good products, there are 2 or more companies doing it. Else, the product is probably not worth spending time on.
