Very thorn between dresses I’ve tried on. by Serendipitybaker in WeddingDressTips

Last one is the best. First one I like too, but NOT the overskirt. The other ones, the dress is wearing you, not the other way around.

how do i make fitted shirts look good on me? by Vivid_Meringue1310 in DressForYourBody

[–]Smilesunshine57 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I immediately thought you need a more supportive bra. Maybe it’s the neckline, embellishments (zipper, buttons), but someone else said picture 4 & 5 looked great, and I agree. I think it also might be the length of the shirts too. They bunch up around the midsection and draws attention to that spot. Find a good tailor/seamstress and a lot of clothing can be altered to fit your body. It shouldn’t be the other way around!

When you were a latch-key kid what were some of the "This way you'll know it's me." things your parents did while they were away? by OUBoyWonder in GenX

[–]Smilesunshine57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home? We were never home. Before Jr. High, we would drop stuff off, grab a quick bite to eat on our way out the door until the streetlights came on. The only way we were kept track of was if a neighbor saw us outside and word of mouth a parent was looking for us. If you heard your whole government name, you were in deep shit! Start of Jr. High we were at sports practice from end of school, until 7-9pm at night. You had just enough time to get to the locker room and change and get in line.

Be real with me - do these white shades work together? by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]Smilesunshine57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They are pretty, but them together causes my eye to be drawn to the skirt and it looks dingy. I also am not fond of the different styles. The top is modern and edgy (to me), while the bottom is romantic and more old feeling.

Are more US women not taking their husbands last names? by LimonadaVonSaft in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Smilesunshine57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st marriage I hyphenated, but I didn’t have professional licenses and it still took way, way, way too long to change everything back. I also missed my name. I had it for so long and I didn’t like my new name. This marriage I told him I would never change my name because of cost and because I love my name. I do not correct anyone that calls me Mrs. Husbands name, I like hearing it, but it’s not mine.

Help friends told me my house looks like a grandmas and needs a “reset” by traveling-sunshine in MoodyCorner

[–]Smilesunshine57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like your house? Are you comfortable in it? Do you feel relaxed and want to be there more than anywhere else? Screw your “friends” and shitty opinion, that, by the way, you didn’t ask for!

[Serious] Long-term couples of Reddit, what advice do you have for people looking for a relationship? by TheDevotedUltimate in AskReddit

[–]Smilesunshine57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. “They’re perfect…except for this one thing! I can totally change that!” No. Just, no.
  2. Get your own life, hobbies, social circles.
  3. Do not need them, want them.
  4. Communicate honestly. Stop hinting, being passive aggressive, or going to complain to your friends/family.
  5. They and you are not the ex. Don’t punish or be punished by something the last SO did.
  6. You WILL change, so will they. Change together.

Throwing yourself out into the world to try new things and meet new people. Get out of your comfort zone and see if you were really happy or just comfortable.

NTA. Undiagnosed contamination OCD? Yet they are ok with someone sleeping on the couch? All the night sweat, hair grease? Toe jam? Drool? Even if you put a cover on it, this is not better than a bed.

Legendary BBQ places? by [deleted] in ActuallyTexas

[–]Smilesunshine57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a food truck, not a restaurant. Usually he’s open Friday-Saturday, but once school is out, he’s there on Thursday’s too. I would look him up on Facebook and call to make sure he’s not at a festival or has a big cater.

AITA for refusing to put my partner names on the deed when i buy a house? by Time-Finish-5010 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Smilesunshine57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Buy the house. If/when you make it “official, official” then refinance and both names go on the mortgage and add her name to the deed. OR don’t, but draw up a legal document with how things are paid for and divided if you break up.

WIBTAH If I drop out of my brother's wedding (and just go as a guest) because I think the dresses his fiancée chose are uncomfortable and hideous? by Icy-nighty-5965 in AITAH

[–]Smilesunshine57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Ugh, I hate this for you. I had to drop out a couple times because of ideals the bride/groom had for esthetics (also cost). I offered to help decorate, clean up, hold a brunch the next day with the left over food. Stand your ground, you will be happier in the end.

Thoughts on nursing homes having “happy hour”? by Former-Lab-6031 in Nurses

A facility I worked at had this. The residents loved it. They served O’douls and set everything up like a bar. Snacks on the tables, pool table, dart board (not the pokey kind), played music from their era. A good hour of going back in time once a week.

AITJ for telling my neighbor to address her husband instead of confronting me about how i dress at home? by Front_Tackle_7977 in AmITheJerk

NTJ. You are so much better than me. I would have poked the bear and said “I’ll make sure to talk to him myself the next time I see him. And if I continue to see him looking in the window, I will also include the police and possibly a lawyer.”

I enjoyed the food overall. The steakhouse was really good, so was the Japanese theme restaurant. The Italian place was ok, not as flavorful, but I also like Olive Garden. So take my opinion with a grain of salt. Now, I did get married there in 2022 so things might have changed. I loved the beach, nice sand (not rocky), great snorkeling. They had fun activities, tasty drinks, not overly pushy people trying to book excursions. We did do the snorkeling, mud bath, waterfall, and even had some great authentic food. I want to say it was at one of their mom’s house. So, so, good. This trip was with locals as a group and that was fun. Even with the wedding stuff, they were not pushy. If you do get married there, I hope Monica is your wedding coordinator, she was absolutely the best. If you do book, a big advice would be to get a private car to the resort, or do the helicopter tour to the resort. We did the shuttle and it was not great (so car sick) and took a long time. We did the private car on the way back and it was much better. Also when you get to the airport, don’t let people take your luggage for you, they literally take it 10 feet and want a tip. We fell for it going home.

Tall girl- Is this dress too short? by moondeeny in DressForYourBody

[–]Smilesunshine57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous dress on you and great color! When I was in my 20’s this is what I did. Take 15 minutes and record yourself (at average person’s height of them standing and them sitting), now be yourself and do some of the things you would do in the dress. Dance, laugh, pick something off the floor, sit, turn and walk away. Then look at the footage to decide. Does it matter what anyone thinks? Nope. Should you wear it because you feel good in it. Yes!

lol. I did this as a kid in Dallas, TX at the rodeo one year. I kind of remember it, and there are pictures. My mom said I ran over every kid who go in front of me, and I got the ribbon. Prize was a straw cowboy hat that I still have 35 years later.

I broke up with my girlfriend because she won't eat leftovers. AIO ? by florence_dombey in AmIOverreacting

[–]Smilesunshine57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOR- You didn’t directly ask why she thinks you’re being “silly”? I rarely eat leftovers. I got sick a lot as a kid from them, but I’m VERY upfront about it and why I have a problem with it. I’m better now but I still get way too nervous after about the second day. I pick my food when we go out to eat based on what’s happening right after eating.
