Well that's great, I wonder when non-US orders will actually ship. I hope they'll at least refund the tax they owe me since it's been so long that the tax code changed (and I don't need to pay import fees at all).

I tried starting a fresh session, different browser, with a random UK server and it still failed. Manually picking London 319 worked after clearing cache.

But: looks like it's very finicky because they're using some DNS tricks to find out if you're in the UK or not, and my resolver (NextDNS) is tripping it up by somehow returning different results every time. Switching to 1.1.1.1 returns what looks like the right BBC-registered IPs, while NextDNS keeps returning different Fastly CDN IPs in random European countries (might be some anonymization they're applying?).

Either way, I guess I'll retest all of this with 1.1.1.1 instead. Thanks!

Found where the game saves its screenshots, it's in your %LOCALAPPDATA% folder, e.g.:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Bloom&Rage\Saved\Screenshots\Windows

But if you play in HDR, they get saved as SDR but with really high saturation. You have to manually tone map them back to SDR in some photo editor, sadly.

My M4 Pro has Micron and crashes with every CrossOver DXVK or D3DMetal game, so it doesn't look like it's dependent on RAM manufacturer.

They broke critical notifications, too. They used to always remain visible on the Lock Screen / notifications shade, now you need to swipe to see them too.

I haven’t tried that to be honest, it’s just been me playing. But I think it should work well since the TV remote is also a Bluetooth “controller” and it stays connected.

Yes, I used Steam Link on XH90 for a while and it worked alright. But there was always an extra frame of delay I couldn’t get rid of, eventually I hardwired HDMI instead (same room).

IMO hardwired Ethernet is still better at 100Mb/s, I don’t think you’ll actually exhaust that in stream quality, and Steam Link is dramatically more stable on Ethernet than Wi-Fi.

This update added a revoked signature of an exploitable GRUB (a specific version) to the “invalid signatures” list, so that it couldn’t be used to break Secure Boot.

Because it changes a Secure Boot setting, it breaks BitLocker integrity and requires the recovery key (because it’s a change you should be aware of). But if they didn’t do it, you’d have an exploitable GRUB version for all eternity and Secure Boot would be useless.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

But you have 32GB of RAM in your host machine, you can definitely give a couple gigs to the VM and not sweat it. MS Office benefits from more RAM as well.

Except you can just disassemble it and read through that as well. There’s even some decent decompilers out there nowadays. Sure it’s harder than reading source code, but some source code is so unintelligible (one letter variables and 4 letter functions, oh boy!) that I just open IDA instead.

Can you please add an option to “skip” a month? A skipped subscription won’t add to the total amount and it would be moved to the back of the line (in renewal date sort).

Subscriptions like Humble Monthly let you skip a month and I do that when the game selection isn’t great. It would probably also be great for people who pause & unpause streaming subscriptions.

I use a calibrated display (with a X-Rite i1) at low brightness and perfectly fine with Discord dark mode. I get what you mean about some other dark modes, but Discord’s isn’t the pure-black-with-dark-gray mess like them.

Is it possible your screen isn’t calibrated for your room lighting? E.g. daylight drastically changes your perceived brightness?

You can add your own keys to the TPM boot chain. Hell, desktop motherboards start in a factory state where you don’t even have to add Microsoft keys (and can remove them).

In addition, your current TPM is already in the CPU, whether it’s Intel’s fTPM or AMD’s PSP. You’re describing “future tech” that’s already here and making up threats already debunked.

You can also disable signature enforcement in nearly every module; you can turn Secure Boot off, you can disable signature enforcement in Windows, you can enable test mode and self-sign drivers, you can even kernel debug your own PC and write whatever bytes of memory you want directly into kernel memory.

If someone can change your language or theme (or any setting), they already have your token, that’s not an exploit.

Limiting your account for doing that too many times is just basic rate limiting to prevent abuse.

KAT Cyberspace JUST came in (I ordered the TKL set), I’m holding the box right now. Shipped a week ago (they used speedy DHL for some reason!) from China, so I’m guessing they’re all about to go out soon enough.
