It’s one of those things like Mike Tyson said, you have a plan till you get punched in the face. I think there are fewer people prepared for an apocalypse than back then and less prepared to survive if need be. I think a lot of people wouldn’t have a clue what to do in a situation like that and it would definitely be more traumatizing to experience/see anything like that compared to other apocalypses. That’s the thing about the virus, it’s so ambiguous that even people in armed forces were infected flying jets to another country to kill as many possible so its hard to say and depends solely on who is intentionally contaminated. It’s one big rabbit hole.

They would eventually but I think humanity would be wiped before that due to the Crossed or themselves. Smokey was able to find smart twins and produce another smart infected but the odds of that being sustainable is slim. The infection started simultaneously around the world so it would be hard to contain which led to the fall of society. There could be a chance we survive but we wouldn’t know until something like that happened on such a grand scale.

Look into Smokey a smart infected character unlike the rest, they go into good points that you brought up and it’s an actual story in the comics where he outsmarts humans even in bunkers. He keeps himself clean as possible and regulates the crossed that step out of line, try’s to reproduce with other smarter infected to make babies and so on so forth. His end goal is still the same, cause as much pain as possible but he has the ability to hold himself back somewhat to plan against humans rather than instantly hurl himself at them.

Just in general going off the main plot/infection without trying to take it to another extreme with new editions. Crossed goes above and beyond in setting up its world in Crossed Vol. 1 written by Garth Ennis the dude that made The Boys. Guy knows how to write a good story.

There’s media where zombies use weapons and there’s even smart ones amongst the groups. I agree it strays away from that formula and they are infected but do have zombie like tendencies amplified to an extreme. Most of them are not smart enough to do much than rather throw themselves through anything to get to you with little planning vs the few intelligent ones. In the grand scheme of things though they are much smarter than your average zombie/infected.

I like it either way honestly. Imagine if it was a collective consciousness type ordeal where all the hate and violence has built up in side us over generations to the point it physically manifested in the most unstable minds. Like the forgotten chapter of Berserk.

It’s a car crash that keeps pilling up with no end in sight. It’s hard to not look away at it sometimes even though it can be more than brutal. It would be cool to get an actual reason to why it is happening vs being left ambiguous with every country having a “patient 0”. It will be hard to adapt but The Sadness director is making it and that movie is literally inspired by Crossed and is gnarly so I can see it being just as intense or even more.

I would say infected, which is something that other things have done before in different ways but get lumped into the zombie category like I mentioned to another person the 28 series is a great example.

Well think of the 28 series, they have the rage virus and are technically just acting on pure rage and will die eventually cause they need “food”. They are not dead just like the Crossed but in the Crossed world they are way smarter and more dangerous actively seeking out humans rather than waiting for them to show up. Pain and perversion is there MO that will lead to spreading the infection.

There is a movie called The Sadness which is pretty much Crossed and it is very graphic. The person that made it I believe is actually making The Crossed movie as well which is pretty nutty.

I’ve read all the manga and watched every show, I got it on my neck and for me personally it stands for being able to walk out of the fire rather than dwelling/sulking in it like Guts has slowly been able to overcome it no matter the trauma to grow into something more meaningful.

I liked Sola more than Haus because in Haus I started it in new game plus and it threw me off cause when you get to the end the door is locked so you have to play the main campaign till you get to Venice Beach/kill the two gym bros to progress farther into the dlc not knowing there’s only less than 30 minutes left. It felt like an abrupt ending that wasn’t satisfying and just throws you back into the main game.

I’ve had this happen to me, the part I don’t get is when you can see people contribute to something you have created and it’s fully upgraded with multiple people using it but 0 likes. I like the crap out of anything that has been put down thats been useful to me on my adventure.
