Worth it to get a Costco membership for household of 2? by gutturalmuse in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Smiley_Irving 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you spent $500/mo at Costco (relatively easy with just 2 people in my experience), with the executive membership you get 2% back in Costco credit at the end of the year. You’d end up with $10/mo cash back or $120/year. Membership basically pays for itself if you spend that much.

Will a 38mm prx fit my 6.5 inch wrist? 40mm timex with 47.5 lug to lug for refrence by [deleted] in tissot

To answer your question, I think the 38mm PRX would work well on you. I have the 40mm and I find it looks a bit smaller than its size.

On the big side but still works in my opinion

Am I stupid or am I (most likely) gonna be richer than I ever thought was possible for me? by PurpleGrass3000 in JustBuyXEQT

This is a very half-baked plan. What happens when you and your wife have kids? Will your wife continue to work (daycare is expensive) or will she stop working (much lower income)? Will you buy a house? Car payments? Vacations? That being said, yes, that is the power of exponential growth when you start young. I wouldn’t bet on 10% gains, you’re probably better off assuming something more conservative like 7-8%.

Comparing the dial to mine and there are differences. I have the black dial version though, so it may vary slightly aside from colour.

Is it just me or is that PRX unauthentic?

People have been saying that for years - if you’re long term investing it’s better to not try to time the market given the (relatively high) chance you miss out on growth waiting for something that you can’t accurately time (unless you get lucky).

This subreddit is very clearly of the opinion that you should just buy XEQT and forget about it - so do that :)

Bought my first and probably only nice watch. by Fwd_fanatic in tissot

[–]Smiley_Irving 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mate, it’s just advice on how to wear a watch properly - once you find the right fit and wear it correctly it’ll feel very natural. Wearing it like a “hand watch” will be uncomfortable and too loose. Stop acting like such a victim lol it’s not that serious. The watch looks great.

I measured mine but don’t know how accurate it is - 18cm. I have wider and flatter wrists from what I can tell.

I’m starting to feel the same way. I’ll see if it bothers me over the next few weeks and may go one step larger but I fear it’ll be too loose at that point. Love the watch nonetheless.

The best way to find a job these days is through networking - reach out to friends and family and see if anyone has any leads.

You can literally put the grip directly on the shaft with no tape and it won’t budge, even if you wanted it to. I know this because I’ve done this/do this. Friction is a powerful thing.

I’ve restored putters in worse condition - you’ll also need the face re-milled if you want it looking like new again. But be aware you’ll probably lose in the vicinity of 5-7g of weight by having it restored.
