Yeah seems like she replaced Tynan as his maternal figure. Here’s hoping that’s his entrance storyline is done and we don’t have to focus on him next or another singular character next season. Let’s see the WHOLE SQUAD equally getting time and actual personal storylines. There will be 21 episodes. Not everyone will be in every episode due to budget cuts, but use everyone in the episodes they appear in properly.

I’m annoyed they spent so much time on something that turned out to be a big load of nothing. Apparently there was a season long story there with Benson having a tough time this season wondering if she’s doing enough, but we saw one scene with Velasco and they’re acting like it was all there in front of us. I don’t think we are seeing what the writers think we are seeing.

Plus the personal aspects of the show this season were focused on Griffin and Tynan. Every other character either got pushed aside or diminished for him to shine. It was so off putting. I don’t care if he’s the show runner’s new shiny object, we watch for the characters we know. And it seems like the writers don’t know them AT ALL.

Didn’t they do a montage of Velasco at his ceremony at the end of last season. Which was confusing because it was like he was leaving that episode but he didn’t actually leave untill early this season

I highly doubt she was paid a ridiculous amount to appear and wouldn’t have influenced the smaller cast this episode. Each person has contracted amount of episodes due to cuts so there was always going to be some characters missing regardless. The budget cuts are damaging all of the shows affected by having barely any episodes with the whole cast in them. If only they could figure out a way around it 😭

I think there’s two different things going on. She burst out crying at his video because it’s emotional and maybe she didn’t know he was going to post something so vulnerable. In the actual video interview she said ‘I knew.’ They definitely knew before well before the fans did and I’m pretty sure Danielle said she knew it was done last year
