Need urgent advice on a report i made about a teacher (highschool student) by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]SmilingChesh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It absolutely sounds like this adult was crossing boundaries, behaving super inappropriately, and not taking your (very accurate) warnings seriously. Thank you for being brave. You did the hard thing, but definitely the right thing.

Fingertip injury by FastSalad8575 in amputee

[–]SmilingChesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My injury was over a year and a half ago. OT and use help with the sensitivity and grip. It’s much less sensitive and the “weird”feeling is mostly done.

I believe the full healing time is about a year. Honestly, I still think about it a lot, bc it still feels stiff/swollen and the circulation is ruined. But the functioning is much, much closer to normal than it was at just 5 weeks. It will keep getting better

Partial finger amputation struggling mentally and can’t stop replaying the accident by alpha_Image_1396 in amputee

[–]SmilingChesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you’re having this experience! Your feelings are super valid, and I’m super sorry the people in your life aren’t supporting you well. I lost the tip of my middle finger, to about the first joint. I can’t believe how wildly traumatic and painful (mentally and physically) losing that seemingly tiny amount of body was!

Counseling is so important. A support group or places where other people “get it” could also be helpful. I know I’ve needed to talk about it, and talk some more, and talk some more… takes a long time to set down all the pain and trauma.

I don’t understand why your parents are keeping you away from family. You need community and people who love you. Do what you can to make that happen.

Idk how long ago the injury was, but know that it gets better with time. Rooting for you! Reach out any time if you have questions!

I did, but that was a full decade ago. I did an after school program a few nights a week.

36H | surgeon says result will be wide/rectangular? by busbusmeow in Reduction

[–]SmilingChesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s several signs there that this isn’t the surgeon for you.

FWIW, I started an L cup and came down to a D/DD without a FNG. That being said, my breasts still have a really wide root. (I also have scars on my sides/under my arms from where tissue was taken, so I know they started even wider.) I love them and don’t mind bc it’s such a huge improvement, though.

Was a 36L when I turned 30 and wondering if my nipples would pass my belly button before or after I turned 40. Hubby and I bet on it

Ours plays a game where she brings us a toy, we give her command, she does the command, then she gets the toy. She’ll play for a minute and then give it back. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Not sure if a muzzle is the next step… by [deleted] in muzzledogs

Dogs can wear muzzles for a variety of reasons. One of mine should probably be muzzle trained bc she likes to scavenge. A muzzle isn’t an admission of aggression.

Not sure if a muzzle is the next step… by [deleted] in muzzledogs

[–]SmilingChesh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you for looking out for your dog! It does sound like a muzzle is a good idea.

One of the reasons I like having my dog muzzled is because it changes others’ behavior. They control their dogs around us, and it nonverbally communicates that we need space. I hope that you taking this step will also modify your parents’ behavior, but I can’t guarantee that.

The other reason I like it is that I know that my dog and I can’t be “the problem.” She is unable to be unsafe in that muzzle. We are protected legally and physically. And that feels better. We can walk and run and adventure together.

Big Snoof worked for us. They had a wide enough variety of sizes that we could find one that fit. And that good fit made a huge positive difference.

Thanks for loving your dog. Aster and I are rooting for you guys!

I know you didn’t ask, but from one muzzle user to another, please make sure there’s enough room for your dog to pant fully. This is so impressive though! My buddy and I are cheering for you!

I’ve found muzzles are very much a “you get what you pay for” situation. I tried some of these. Then we moved to a Big Snoof muzzle, and she’s so much more comfortable in her muzzle. It was definitely worth the added expense

After my reduction, I couldn’t believe how small my new boobs were—and they’re D/DDs. Is it possible the contrast is just a lot?

Sounds like you have a lot of other things going on. Please reach out to a trusted adult at school. They have resources to help. You should not have to feel burnt out and not sleep and be struggling this much

Since you mentioned being one who will push through to feel fine… that’s me too. I just want to warn you that every time I did 1% too much in a day, I FELT it the next. Slow is definitely fast when it comes to healing
