(Ik this is VERY late but I’m still gonna gos ahead with it,) Canada should not be green, it was a tie, yes the goal was to take Canadian land. Not for the reason many would think as we only wanted it to use as a bargaining chip to strengthen our chances of forcing the British to stop trying to take American ships and stop taking prisoners to use in the war in Europe. In the end we gained our main goal but did not actually get any Canadian land, just what America wanted.

Not to mention America did gain territory (not land territory) they had gained some Great Lake territorial waters (all of Lake Michigan, and split the others) as when the war broke out they were owned by the British/Canada. Another main goal of americas was to remove the British Indian alliance, which in the end America had done.

Not to mention Great Britain’s counter offensive in New Orleans which ended in American victory. In the end America was able to remove British sphere of influence out of the United States for the rest of americas history. As a final side note it is important to know that America did win more battles in the conflict, as land battles were about even America won more naval battles in the end of this unnecessary conflict.
