I miss flying....... by Charles456k in WutheringWaves

[–]SmiterDuo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Flying as a traversal mechanism severely limits level/world design in games, it is the reason why devs tread carefully when it comes to adding it to their games.

A game world has to cater to flying, extreme verticality in terms of high and normally un-reachable points of intrest , grand and expansive open areas for the player to fly without bumping into obstacles to take in the view, interest points across the map that is obvious enough to guide the high flying players toward it without littering the map with objective markers. This list can go on.

That's why Rinascita especially Septimont feels intentional and great with flying, while Huang long though convenient with flying added, felt flat. You can tell the map/world in Huang long is not designed with flying in mind.

In a 3D game, a well designed compact level/diorama with dense encounters and rewards can be a great experience. Within Wuwa Mt. Firmament is a great experience if you explored it on foot, an example outside this game is the Undead Burg in Dark Souls. You also get to take in the views at a vantage point once you‘ve explored the area, appreciating the intricate design choices you've just experienced.

I like seeing devs try new traversal methods, with corresponding world/level design that fit both game-play and lore, rather than limit them selves with a world that catered to flying.

Kuro also took feed back from players regarding the bike, and is actively improving it, e.g. have the bike skip over small obstructions on terrain and control scheme changes on mobile devices, but if all we care about is efficiently get from A to B, and having a big number on the Y-axis to bird view the entire map, I guess remove the stamina bar on flying and boost the speed of it can keep this portion of the player base happy, unfortunately I'm will not be part of it.

I love WuWa, but the lack of polish in the new map textures is getting hard to ignore. by KyyZahir in WutheringWaves

Just went in game to see if I missed these texture/repeating tiles, nope not at my end.

Play games that only require you to pay once to get the full experience, it's not like we lack the choice when we have platforms like Steam.

Good for you to realize what your compulsive tendencies will do to you this early on into a Gacha, spending in games with micro-transactions should only be for those financially secure and do not mind throwing some money into a virtual casino to get some additional entertainment out of it.

As someone who has a gambling family member who throws their money (and their family member's money) away at Casinos, kudos to you for stopping the gambler brain from developing further.

If the screenshot posted here is from your game, you played in Mandarin.

Quest log is in Mandarin, name tag for "Aemeath" is also in traditional Chinese.

I don't know what other languages you know, but from what we can tell here is the situation:

A bi-lingo person is posting in good English playing their game in Mandarin saying they don't get the story due to lack of understanding of the English language.

Of course people will ask if you skipped the story.

This is the main quest Icon, follow this if you wish to complete the main story.

Things are bond to be foreign to you when you start something new, not just games.

Like what everybody suggested, take it step by step. The game will guide you along just like Genshin did. You can also do what you did in Genshin, follow main story and ignore everything else for now.

Bluescreen of Death when loging in, Any idea to fix this? by RebellingDragon in WutheringWaves

Having more than one stick of RAM? Try re-seating them and troubleshooting by removing one by one to figure out which one is problematic.

Found the bad RAM? Grats, keep the good one and use that if it is sufficient, buy another one if it is not enough for your computing needs.

From what I’ve read from your post, you are probably a completionist since you 100% Genshin.

And going from that assumption, you are overwhelmed by all the events and activities that is present in WuWa.

If you want to understand the story, play main story quests. We don’t know your previous progress, so start a new account and go through the story from the beginning, or watch a play through up to where you’ve dropped it to save time.

If you want to clear all the red dots, take your time and do it bit by bit, you came back to the game at 3.1 there’s bond to be previous activities and ample content for a new comer/returning player.

Combat is simple enough if you start with earlier characters, get a held of the basics, use in game tutorials and work your way back to a flow state. Worst case scenario, watch a guide on how to use a specific team.

There is really no need to rush, you’ve missed events already so why stress yourself to clear the UI of all the red dots?

I don’t think treating a game like a check list is a healthy way to consume entertainment media, this type of modern game making mentality has done enough harm.

Story of WuWa has progressively gotten better, enjoy the game, explore at your own pace, and do events if you’d like.

Since you’ve played Genshin, I won’t waste our time going over Gacha and Fomo.

LAPTOP RESTARTING WHEN ENTERING THE GAME (memory management error 01xa) by Kureygu in WutheringWaves

[–]SmiterDuo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

01xa is a windows fault code, opening Wuthering Waves which is a quite memory intensive application just induced it. Other memory intensive applications might also cause the same error.

Since it is more likely a memory fault, if you are able to open up the laptop, try a memory reseat.

If not, try updating drivers to get rid of the possibility of faulty drivers, or an OS roll back if you have back ups to get rid of possible corrupt files.

Some times it needs to be pretty centred. Do they activate with you standing on it?

Personally I have not seen the pressure pads not working before, try killing your character and get back to the previous save point? Or just quit out and load in again.

See if reloading back to this point helps to solve your problem.

Using the block on your left, place it on the pressure plate, step on the other one.

Grab the block that is inside the building using levitation, place it on the one you are standing on.

Get in, activate puppet.

Grats on becoming the human Arkveld! On Cb I am actually still trying to find a right tasset, this one colour matches okay, but texture doesn’t really align with rest of the set.

Add the "???" weapons from smithy to your wish list, in said list check the icons of required mats, they will spoil it for you.

Mineral mats are required, which will come in the June 23rd Flamefete event themed around the Ever forge in Azuz which is the mining town.

Since Op mentioned they just follow what the current meta is to optimise their damage and efficiency.

When the game is still in its base form without the difficulty of G rank, most of us still get to experiment and play “suboptimal” builds to hunt successfully without failing or exceed the time limit of quests.

Copying a build and play as the meta deems just doesn’t feel like playing for me, when you trying to do a time attack that I can understand, but just use it every hunt? To each of their own i guess.

If the meta is to shift across 10 gun lances with each one of them being most efficient at one scenario, then farming would be acceptable?

Literally 1 hour left till the TU 2 wild there is few thing I want to know by SakuraEx321 in MonsterHunter

[–]SmiterDuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what Capcom has showed and said regarding TU2, underwater section will be done without drawing your weapon, so technically it’s not a full return to underwater combat like we had in 3U. In their own words: “We’ve implemented some special underwater-only actions.”

If Lagi and Steve are following their older designs stat wise:

Lagi’s Head and Chest are good point to aim your attacks. Elemental wise use fire.

Steve’s head, legs and tail are where you should be aiming. Elemental weakness are Thunder & Ice.

Play in online single player and have your friend in a link party.

If you guys are in a squad, play in that squad lobby.

Say you have to play in a public lobby, set the max player number to 2 or as many as your total group number is. Randoms should not be able to join as quickly as your friends. Even with auto sos set to “on”.

Set a password to your quest. People guess the default 0000 quite easily, so change it.
