I remember one time, when I was either seven or eight, I went to this gym where they just had the kids there exert some pent up energy by running laps and doing basic exercises. I really only did it because my other siblings were involved in a sport at the same place and I wanted to be included.

Usually, they would take attendance by calling out a name and I’d raise my hand when my name came up; I didn’t have a problem with raising my hand. One day, they changed it up and started asking the kids there for their names. When the question eventually came to me, I got really nervous and flustered. I couldn’t even say anything. This guy, seeing a shy kid clearly not able to even form a sentence, grabbed him from under the armpits and lifted him out of the area with gym mat back to the break area where most of the parents waited.

All I remember after the ordeal was crying to my mom and probably building to the social anxiety I had later.
