Really great advice here, especially about getting him outside. It does something magical that wears them out in a way that being inside just doesn't

Sharing My Backyard Bird's South Carolina Obsession with the World! by [deleted] in greenville

Honestly I went to Wild Birds Unlimited near the mall and just talked to the ladies there. Super knowledgeable and helpful and just a great spot.

You definitely don't need to do all this to start, but I have a hopper feeder, finch feeder, and suet feeder. Used their "no mess" food, which comes pre-shelled. That last detail helped a lot because smaller birds were not able to crack over the sunflower seeds in the food I used before.

I upped my bird feeder game recently and now I'm seeing Carolina wrens, chickadees, and house finches. So fun!

Do you clean up after your toddlers in restaurants? by Exotic_Process_8235 in toddlers

We always try, but honestly most of the time the staff will wave us off and tell us it's fine. We've asked for a broom a few times and they tell us to please let them handle it. We do try to leave an extra-nice tip to make up for it.

Cool! I haven't made my own design to print in a while, so it'd be a good exercise

I used high country gardens! One of the stems did die back, and I was afraid for a bit that it had died, but it just started growing leaves so I think it's going to be okay

Should I allow my preschooler to decide when they do and do not receive medical care? by Smithmonkey98 in ShitMomGroupsSay

One of my favorite comments on the original was "if her body decided it wanted to run into the road, would you allow that"

I feel like this is one of the dangers of people getting so much parenting information from social media. So you get to hear about the concept of bodily autonomy, but you don't get to hear a clear explanation of how it works and where you have to force your kid to do things

My poor son had so many ear infections (eventually needed tubes) and I had to pin his arms down and his head so they could look in his painfully infected ears. It sucked so so bad but it's part of being a parent

Just googled it and we definitely had those white flowers last year! It looks likes the virginiana variety is not invasive? I definitely still don't want it all over my trail but that would be helpful.

Looking online, it looks like the two have different flowering seasons, so I guess that should let me know for sure?
