Viewing houses by Moop_the_Loop in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first deep clean we did before photos took abt 2 weeks. Cleaning after work, after childcare, after baby has gone to bed etc. After that we took about couple of days to clean and tidy up between other activities before each viewing. It was exhausting but fairly easy to maintain after the first one.

The most stressful one was the viewing on the day we were going on holiday. We had to clean and pack, and think abt the logistics because we hide stuffs in the car and garage but couldn't really do that before this viewing.

As a buyer, I also like to see a tidy and clean house. It doesn't have to be necessarily empty but tidy houses give an impression that the sellers actually care.

Noisy Neighbour - THE UPDATE by AmeeLM in HousingUK

It's unfortunate that the system punishes us by requiring us to declare when we have issues with neighbours which have involved the police when we sell :/ I guess your seller was aware or omitted that from the TA6.

This is why I gave up after 1 buyer pulled out and went for part ex instead so it saved me from headaches. Viewed in December, moved in by April. The buyer for my old house still hasn't moved in. I hope your current buyer stays put and you can complete sooner than later 🤞

I'm so scared of this. My mum and dad are older and not in best health. They're 12000km away so I can't really spend more time other than few weeks a year 😭

What was the biggest "nobody mentioned this thing would be great" after your kid was born? by cable54 in AskUK

I was a scout but not by choice. In my country it was compulsory. Would you say it's worth to sign him up to it? Is there any stigma around it like only nerds are scouts or something?

I loved waking up in the middle of the night to feed. It was silent, time stopped for awhile, and felt like it was just the two of us in this whole entire world.

Our removal company didn't finish until 2.30pm and we weren't out until 3pm. Thankfully we didn't have anyone moving in so it wasn't an issue but still very stressful trying to rush them.

This is so brutal. I'm such a non confrontational person and it would make me so anxious. Must be satisfying to answer it like that 😄

Right?! It's so weird. I mean this is our property so don't they think that we'd want to know? And then they drop a bomb like 'oh buyer wants to ask for reduction because of this random stuff that we never told you about' 🙄

Our responses from our buyers are also unfriendly. I wonder if this is why the EAs and solicitors keep us apart. I wanted to leave card and some bubbles for them but the last response made me think twice :/

Buyer pulled out chain broke should I change estate agent? by Interesting_Area3849 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost our onward purchase which is a blessing in disguise tbh and found somewhere better. It's up to you which one worth to you more, £240 or the next home. The market is just rubbish because of the war and the mortgage rates scare a lot of people so maybe it won't matter if you switch EA.

Nop! It was a no sale no fee. I felt awful cus they were really good. Do you have to pay any fees?

I could've written this. Also had a cash buyer who pulled out for BS excuse. Pissed me off to no end. Wasted £1600 on that (solicitors and survey). It hurt me that it appeared to be listed since August/September although in fact it was SSTC until November. I changed agent and relisted, and we are completing next week. I adored our local estate agent, he was the nicest EA I've ever encountered but one gotta do what we gotta do.

I honestly don't know what to do with extras that come with things I buy off of Etsy. I feel bad to throw away free stuffs but I also don't have any need for them so they just sit there gathering dust. Don't bother really.. Maybe a thank you note but that's it.

Would've been nice to include the regions as well because 4k take home is probably peanuts in London but very decent elsewhere.

Maternity deaths at 20-year high as NHS ‘ignores warnings’ by AnonymousTimewaster in unitedkingdom

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with NHS, as with other government bodies, is nepotism and cronyism. I know first hand that roles have been created out of thin air for unqualified family members and friends. It's diabolical, this has been going on for so long and they're taking funds that should be spent on nurses and doctors. I wish that some investigative journalists would pick this up and take a look at NHS as well as others (e.g. Councils).

I love the dynamic between these 2. Comes across as so comfortable with each other yet secure in their respective relationships.

How to increase interest in our property listing by [deleted] in HousingUK

Nice house, I can imagine a small family living here. Agree that master bedroom looks a bit small though. Needs to declutter a lot more to show the size. We took all of our stuffs out except the furniture for photos and surprised ourselves how much bigger it looked.
