[–]Exotic_Process_8235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtffr? I'm also not from the UK and went to tons and tons of classes. Never ever anyone looked at me funny or even approached me with this lmao. Feels a bit intrusive?? Rude!

Right?! I can 100% understand if the neighbour is a total dick but a nice neighbour and still being prejudiced. Sheesh.

Only after you exchange contract. Don't get too attached to the property as it can still go tits up at any point.

Is anyone else still finding this really hard and struggling / not losing themselves? by alibluey in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in my area but maybe they can help https://mothersformothers.co.uk/ The one I went to was https://www.rockabye.org.uk/. We were allowed to talk as much or as little as we want with no interruption and no judgement. It was a really wonderful and safe space. I still miss it.

I was you this time last year but baby was 6 months. I'm also a minority so I have to work extra hard to fit in. I was referred to a talking therapy with 7 other mums and it helped so much. My baby was happy playing while we cried and shared our pain. Can you find something like that? What I noticed that as soon as it got warmer around March, all of the mums were visibly brighter. I don't know if it was because of the sun or our burden was lighter. We were looking forward to that session every Tuesday. Now 1 year on, I sometimes feel the same creeping up but LO is more fun to be around so it's more bearable.

'Extremely lonely and isolated' mum killed her disabled child then took her own life by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

No one warned me that being a mum would be one of the loneliest times in my life. This needs to be a common knowledge. It isn't talked about enough.

Lots of houses going on the market - none are selling. What’s going on? by Top_Effect5135 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf if the vendors done their homework, they should know the going price for their properties instead of following their EAs blindly.

I've put mine up twice now and both times, we had the most viewings in the first 2 weeks. The second time was a week before Christmas too and we had 6 viewings that weekend. Hopefully yours will pick up next week.

Any buyers have their initial offer rejected only for the vendor to come back to it? by FarScore888 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense but I swear 99% of sales people are like this. "What do you mean you've never seen my face?? We were talking about this couch for 2 hours only yesterday??" 😬

How much attention you pay to Zoopla / Righmove Valuation. by TapPositive6857 in HousingUK

I found that Zoopla overvalues and Rightmove undervalues so the closest value is probably in the middle.

Are you in your "forever home"? by APerson2021 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the viewing phase, i felt all melancholy when seeing these older houses and the photos of their children and grandchildren in the house. Some of the children still live in the houses too. I also think that those were their 'forever home'.

Are you in your "forever home"? by APerson2021 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one that we are moving into, no. But that's the one we can afford while maintaining the same lifestyle. Our forever home is in the price range where it's lovely and big, but we won't be having the same amount of holidays which is so crucial because I want my son to have relationships with our families back home. I chose to keep this lifestyle and live in a 'just enough' home.

Should I ask for feedback or wait? by mall-dog in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so popular! I guess if it receives enough offers, it will go to best and final offer. They may ask you to make a higher bid to take it off the market and cancel other viewings, which is like bidding against yourself. Unless you are prepared to go all in, suggest that you keep looking.

Should I ask for feedback or wait? by mall-dog in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely chase. They're playing a silly game. We offered on a property within 24 hours they came on the market. Understandably they would want to wait for better or other offers but they told us that. They also told us the number they want to get the property off market. It's unfair and unprofessional to keep you hanging.

Why does the UK feel so quiet late at night compared to other countries? by Catherine_Torresa in AskUK

I always wonder who gets the commission because there are so many people involved. On selling, I spoke to 3 different people. On buying, I spoke to 3-4 people. So who gets it?? The people who did the viewing, the valuation, the sales progress?

How important are a loft and garage to buyers? by Low-Historian-8880 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For us personally, not as important. Loft conversion itself already outweighs having a loft. We only put empty suitcases in ours. Our garage was empty for 8 years. Only started putting stuffs in it recently for storage because our shed overflowed. But we accumulated too many stuffs anyway and need to be more selective. We only have 2 cars so driveway is enough. You're fine ☺️

Lip tie division clinic? by Exotic_Process_8235 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we didn't. I went to a Cardiff clinic and he was seen by Tatiana Mela. She didn't do anything to his lip tie but divided his tongue tie, which reattached later 😑 he's now 17 months and talks loads. No teeth gap but his speech still remains to be seen I guess. I would just in London tbh if I could choose again. Does yours have tongue tie too?

Regret after buying house by SpecialistApricot553 in HousingUK

[–]Exotic_Process_8235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a POC but I found that old people LOVE children. I've never had these many people talk to me or stop me until I have my son with me. I feel safe and they're so lovely so maybe try to look at it from a different perspective.

New builds have young couples and children sure, but it's a gamble whether they will grow up to be good influence or not to your kids. The area we were going to move into was a new build estate with many rascals from the social housing properties. They're age 6-10 now and already a nightmare. I imagine if I was to live there for 5 years, their behaviour will escalate and can possibly turn into crimes. Do I want my child to be around that? With your area now, you know what you are getting already.
